Naruto Shippuuden Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX2

Review by JF7X

"Round after round after round."

Naruto Shippuuden Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX2 is the sixth game in the Gekitou Ninja Taisen series. Released in November earlier this year, the game was made by Tomy and the 8ing company. It is basically a better version of Naruto Shippuuden Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX because of the extra characters that it has. As for the story line, it covers from the beginning of Naruto Shippuden to the story arc of where the characters try to rescue Sasuke.

Game play 6/10: The game play has not changed since the first Ninja Taisen. Everything is generally the same except for some very small changes here and there. The small changes would be like for example: traps in a stage or the seal move using th Wii-mote. However the biggest change that I think they made was that in multi-player people can be the same character. A majority of the characters have the same super however other have changed and of course the new characters have new supers.

Controls 8/10: Since I used the game cube controller instead of the Wii-mote, I can say that the control scheme is the exact same thing as always. The Wii-mote however is a different story since you have to move and pretty much look like a moron and so I never used it. The only thing that you can do with the Wii-mote that you can not do with the Gamecube controller
is the seal move which gets increase power, defense, or chakra.

Replay ability 5/10: The game has a lot of replay ability only because if you want to unlock all the characters you have to beat 500 rounds in the game. Playing 500 rounds even on the quickest settings can get pretty boring real fast. And also playing story mode will only help you get the "Dangerous Base" level.

Graphics 7/10: Since I never played the first Ex game,I don't know what the graphics look like but I can say they are better then the game cube copies.

So to buy or to play it at an anime convention (or friends house), well I would have to say buy it if you really want to, the new addition are not worth 64 dollars or to buy a new Wii for. You would be better off waiting for an American release or to just try it once or twice. You really are not missing much if you don't get the game.
