Story 7/10
Some time after the World GP, a strange comet comes down to the planet and releases a strange stone that makes the robots of a company called Meteotech go on a rampage. Sonic finds this stone, not knowing what it is. But, as he soon finds out, it has the power to control gravity. And yeah, somehow it leads up to some big adventure. I found the story pretty good, but not perfect.
Music 8/10
Sega decided to just use some music without lyrics(for the most part) for this game. I find the music good, and you will remember some of it soon enough, but not for awhile.
Gameplay 9/10
This is why you go up to Wal-Mart and spend some money. The gameplay is awesome! Racing through imaginitive levels at speeds of.....um......fast, grabbing rings, and upgrading your board. That reminds me, you have to spend rings in the races to be able to grind, fly, or punch. These ablities are tied to your board now, so use whoever you want! Just make sure you have the right board. Instead of air, there is gravity and some gravity special moves, like Gravity Dive, where you go so fast that objects can be pulled away from the main course, and smashing through them gives you a speed boost. The gameplay is different than the first in some ways, but the same in others. If you liked the first, you'll like this one too.
Controls 9/10
There are three different modes of control: Wiimote Vertical, Wiimote Horizontal, and Gamecube controller. For Wiimote Vertical, you hold the Wiimote vertically (duh), and bring it down to the left to move left, right to move right, spin it toward the TV to speed up, and spin it to yourself to slow down. For Wiimote Horizontal, point it at the TV and move the cursor left to move left, right to move right, up to speed up, and down to slow down. I can't help much with GC controller, but I'm pretty sure it's the same as the first game.
Online play 8/10
All there is for online is leaderboards and downloading ghosts to race. To get on the boards, you have to do a time attack at whatever level, save your ghost, and do good. Really good. Then you can download somebody's ghost and race it, beat it, and save your new best time.
Replay Value 10/10
There is plenty to do once you've beaten the story mode! Getting on the online boards is always good for a challenge, the missions in each of the 16 levels are tough and will take some time, getting all the boards will take forever to save up enough money to buy, and of course, it's a racing game. So you can always go out for a spin.
Overall 9/10 (not an average).
This game is worth 50 dollars, so if you see a copy and liked the first, buy this! You won't be disappointed. The game is great, and it's tough too.
