Ghost Squad

"A Medicore Shooter With A 90's Charm"
Back in the middle 90's to the early new millennium rail shooters were going very strong, people would line up to play games like Virtual Cop and Time Crisis. However like all genres of video games it soon faded away and no one really cared about them as much, sure you would get a few here and there on the arcade machines but as for on the home consoles it was very very rare.
Now years later since Nintendo has released a Wii Zapper we are seeing them slowly return. The game I'll be reviewing today is Ghost Squad a game I've been playing at my local arcade for months on end.
Graphics- 4/10
The Nintendo Wii might not be as powerful as the Xbox360 and the Playstation 3 but I know it can do so much better. The graphics this game displays are no better than that of the Nintendo 64. So dont expect this date to be a hot blond, its more like an old grandmother of 2
Sound- 3/10
The sound is way below average one of the things that bugs me the most is no matter what gun you seem to be using they all sound the same. The Voices sound shocking and its almost like you can tell they dont want to be there [in the studio doing the voices I mean]
Game Play- 5/10
The game play its self is very repetitive and I do mean repetitive, there are only 3 missions to choose from, However you can do each mission up to a certain number of times. Each time you will be taken on a different route. At some points you wll be asked to chose which way to go. So for example you might get a choice between rescuing hostages or disarming a time bomb. However its not a fun as you might think
Replay ability 5/10
This game does reward you for playing again and again and again. However do this only if you want to earn extra guns or costumes. it doesn't really offer anything worth writing home about. I found once I finished all the missions just once I had enough.
Rent Or Buy:
Rent the game first and see how you like it
Final Thought:
This game isn't the worst game you would go out and buy, however its not the best either. If your a hardcore rail shooter fan than this game will not serve your hunger. If however you are new to the genre this game will be a good stepping stone for you. The game is fun to play with a friend or two but don't expect it to make you new friends.
