"A Bad Painting is Bad, But An Oversensitive Brush is Worse."

I have played the game on the Playstation 2, and let me tell you it was great. But when I heard that the game was going to come out for the Wii, I was even more excited. Who wouldn't? It's one of the best games out there and it would theoretically be perfect game for Wii. That's what I thought before I got this game. Not anymore.

GRAPHICS: I am not impressed with the way Okami was presented on the Wii. The Playstation 2 version was great and it still is. It was a clear refined woodcut kind of painting on the PS2. Everything was polished, but the Wii version is rusty and a bit stale. The text is a bit fuzzy, there is just something awkward about the artwork of this game

GAMEPLAY: This is a very Zelda-ish game, except it goes beyond Zelda. And that my friend, is a great goal achieved. HOWEVER, the essence of this game, the painting is flawed. There are so many moments in the game where one is ensured to become frustrated!!! The painting is so sensitive. The game can tell you to draw a straight line and it will not register. And you have to do again and again and again until the game does finally register whatever the **** you were trying to do. The oversensitivity of the brush kills the fun of this game.

PLOT: Very generic plot. You control the protagonist, but this time the protagonist is a sun goddess named Amaterasu, in the form of a white wolf. You awake for a long slumber and start on a journey to stop the rising of darkness from an old and ancient foe. Still most generic, most over-used plot ever.

EXTRAS NOT MENTIONED: There are a lot of things to do in this game, such as side-quests, so this game will not end that quickly. Oh, by the way, this game might be a bit cocky…. in a way. Like God of War, if you attempt something numerous times and fail each time, the game will ask you if you want to make the game a bit more easier. A bit infuriating at some times, but albeit, a bit humorous.

MY RULING: 6/10. This is such a great game, lacking in comparison to the Playstation 2 version, but still a very good game. I recommend just buying the Playstation 2 version if you have a Playstation 2, but rent it if you have a Wii. If you can stand the oversensitivity of the painting of this game, then I think you should buy it.
