Dr. Mario Online RX

Mario has been in all kind of spin-off games. From sports to Kart and RPGs, This is one plumber that just don't know when to quit. And when he's not plumbing, He's busy taking care of viruses. Dr. Mario is a classic puzzle game thats been around since the golden days of the NES. And Dr. Mario Online RX is Nintendo's latest installment of the puzzler. Is it worth the $10? Read on to find out!

Gameplay: 10/10 If you aren't familiar with Dr. Mario games then the concept is quite simple. There is a screen that shows little colored critters called viruses. These guys come in three different colors: Red, Yellow, and Blue. You control these falling colored pills with different colors on each side. The object of the game is to match up four of the same color of either viruses or pills to kill the viruses. Once you kill every virus on the screen you win. Simply put, Dr. Mario can get very addicting.

Graphics: 7/10 Typical Nintendo graphics. Nothing amazing, but still pleasing to the eye. Its nice to finally see Dr.Mario and the viruses in full 3d. Overall the graphics are pretty average, but then again, who buys puzzle games for graphics anyway?

Sound: 9/10 Dr. Mario is a franchise that has always been known for its music. And Online RX is no exception. From Fever to sneeze, all the selectable music is great and make perfect shower tunes when your not playing the game. They also remixed two of the tracks in virus buster mode. I would have loved to see new music, or more remixed tracks but when the music is this good thats just a very minor complaint.

Play Time/Replayability: 8/10 Dr. Mario's biggest draw in is online play. And the Doctor doesn't disappoint. With leader boards, records, and friend matches. Couple that with the fact that the gameplay itself is just so damn addicting, And you got one fun puzzle game that can last you a very long time.

Final Recommendation Although lacking some features from Dr. Mario 64, (Such as story mode) Online RX still has a bunch of different modes that could keep you entertained for hours on end. And for only ten bucks, its defiantly worth the money. If you have any interest in puzzle games at all get this game. You won't regret it. Dr.Mario Online RX is just what the Doctor ordered.
