"Mario Average Sluggers"

I never played the past slugger before, but I did play the revamped strikers, and thought since Nintendo had made such an epic game before, they'd succeed again!

I was half-wrong.

Gameplay

So when we start I look around on the screen to see the options, and I went straight for the training section. The moment I started, I thought it wasn't too hard. Then it got increasingly harder; not to the point of impossibility, but to the point where it would take a bit to get used to. I honestly thought it was a great game, but the reason the score was hit so hard, was one, the lack of different things to do, if there was some cup scheme like Strikers, this would earn two more points, but all there is are minigames, a single game which you can choose the options for, and an addictive Challenge mode. The challenge mode is more of an adventure mode, where you run around the stadiums and gather teammates by astounding them in succeeding a task, going from the average bland ones to the ones where it will take many times to work. Either way, another reason the score isn't too good for gameplay, is the lack of wi-fi. I really mean it, I was upset by that. But either way, I still got it in hopes of a good game, and my hopes weren't smashed! But gently laid down to rest.

In detail of the stadiums and minigames, they're in good number and can amuse you for quite a time, you'll unlock more when you get them in Challenge mode. They all use baseball techniques, but some of them you'll find are more of a Mario Party minigame than anything else. The stadiums are pretty good though, you have your basic no-gimmick stadium for those who don't like randomness; then you have your random stadiums, with bombs falling from the sky and giant barrels crushing the outfielders.

I just can't give this game more than a 7 with the serious lack of an actual challenge mode, and the Wi-Fi being gone.

Replay Value

This game will really have no replay value for the Challenge mode, but you may find yourself going back to it every once in awhile for a quick game or two. For a baseball game, I find it more replayable than others, due to the randomness factor.

Multiplayer Value

Rereviewed:

I had many more games with my friends and I dub this game extremely fun when playing with 2 or more people, on the same team or otherwise, you'll find many things more interesting, and many laughs shared because of this. I still unfortunately will keep this down to a 7, since I will base this on the fact that most likely, people will mostly prefer Wi-Fi over neighbors.
