Quantum of Solace
Review by Einstein314
"007 Back With a Bang"
James Bong, Quantum of Solace is a great first person shooter, but it is not fully polished and does have a few flaws.
Storyline:
I won't tell you the full storyline because it might ruin the movie for you. But basically you play as James Bond and you are sent to do various missions that take place in the movies Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace.
Graphics:
The Graphics for this game are, well, terrible for this generation. The graphics for the cut scenes look great, but as for the actual gameplay, it falls short.
Controls:
This is one of the strengths of the game. You use the nunchuck analog stick to walk, the Z button to have a lock on, and the C-button to jump. The you use the Wii-Mote to point at the screen to aim, then the B button to shoot, and the A button to run and to take cover. It is extremely fun, and is a huge advantage over the 360 version.
Gameplay:
The single player portion of the game is fun, but falls short of my expectations. First off, the single player mode is pretty short. Maybe 5-6 hours long, depending on what level of difficulty you play on. Then in the game there are many little things that you have to do to complete the level. Like sneaking though a glass pane, or shooting a fire hydrant, etc. So it can be very frustrating at times. There is a splitscreen multiplayer which is pretty fun, but you cannot play against computers.
Online(Wifi):
Online is very fun, but the only problem is, is that the max number of players allowed to play per match is 4. But it is still fun. There are 4 modes, conflict, team conflict, rush, and team rush. Conflict is just a free-for-all match, and team conflict is a two - two match (or it could be a 1-2 or a 1-3 match as well). The Rush and Team Rush modes are matches where the players have to be the first ones to complete an objective that they are given before the other party does so.
It's a really fun game, but if you cannot get a Wifi connection, then maybe I would recommend renting it, because the online portion is a major component of the game. Getting it just for single player is pointless because you'll finish it in a day or two.
