"Personally, I like it!"

Well, I played Need for Speed Carbon and I couldn't stop. It was one of the best games I had ever played. But then Need for Speed Prostreet came out and I had to have it. I opened it and played it, tried it out. But I hated it. I thought it was horrible. I had no idea what I was doing and the whole thing just confused me. I played it a few more times and I kept getting more and more attached to the game. That is when I realized I loved the game.

Game Play (7.5/10)
The game play wasn't that bad. It has its pros and cons, but nothing too major. They give you a car after certain race events, which I thought was pretty cool. Money wasn't really a problem either. You make enough cash to buy a car and trick it out, but that is the expensive part. Speaking of buying cars, there are a lot to choose from. They have the classic Mazda RX8, RX7, and Speed3, but some new additions include the Ford Escort and the new Shelby Mustang. Ehh, nothing I hate, but one thing I dislike is the turning. You have to brake so much to turn, or you will slam into the sides or flip your car over. That was an issue to me. And your cars have damage. We are not talking about you crash your car and you see broken windows. We are talking that you nail someones car too hard, you can receive light damage and this goes toward damaging your engine. If you flip your car or hit something really hard so that it stops you, you will total your car and have to restart the race and pay for it to be fixed, which can be up to 100,000 bucks. Luckily they give you repair markers to fix your cars for free, but you are limited to how many you have. Cars have 4 types and 3 blueprints. The types are Grip, Speed, Drift, and Drag. All cars can do these types, but some may not have the ability to drift. Blueprints are cool. You can save up to 3 cars under one. So you can have cars that look different or drive different, but if the car you pick is set to Grip, all blueprints for that car will be Grip. You can also change the type of your car at anytime in your garage, but you will lose all upgrades for that car, so it will cost you some money. Upgrades and looks were endless. There are so many ways to upgrade your car.

Story (7/10)
The story isn't too bad, but there isn't really a "story" at all. You are some wannabe racer who enters these race days and works his way up to king. There is no free roam and boy I wish there was. Those race days an get kinda boring, but you get to pick the car you want to race with. They even let you pick another car as a "backup" car in case you crash yours or you feel like using something different. Not really much here, besides beating records and taking cars from bosses (again).

Graphics (9/10)
The graphics were amazing. The smoke looked real and soft and everything was "even" and didn't look like 8-bit if you know what I mean. Carbon had that problem with the wheels. They weren't round, they were like octagonal shaped. But these rims looked awesome. Light fixtures were very true to real-time light fixtures. I was amazed at this! The thing that stops this section from getting a perfect 10/10 is when you damage or total your car, it looks similar to Carbon's graphics; gray blobs on the side of your car.

Sound (8/10)
The sound was great! Engines sounded real and the wheels screeching across the asphalt and dirt sounded terrific! Not to mention there were some good songs in there, like a total of like 5-7 songs. I enjoyed the sounds of cars in here, especially when I turn it up real loud!

Overall (8/10)
I couldn't complain. It was a really good game and I would certainly recommend this if you are a fan of racing. If you are just looking for a simple race game, this is probably not the game for you. It is very detailed and can vary from who plays it and there playing style. (For hard-core racing fans)

Thanks for Reading
