Speed Racer

"GO SPEED RACER GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Hello! I know I haven't reviewed in a really long time and I am really sorry about that but now I'm back and ready to review another game! This time, it's gonna be Speed Racer for the wii! So now without anything to slow us down, let's review the game!

Story-The story is basically the story of the movie except there wasn't much focus on it! No cut scenes at all and that made it feel like an old F-Zero game. The story is just not focused on at all throughout the whole entire game and it makes me feel really mad because one of my favorite things in a video game and since there are no cut scenes it makes me feel really bored through the whole game.

Controls-The controls are some of my favorite because it feels really natural except for the car-fu parts. That part is just really bad and it gets really annoying when other cars blow you up by constantly doing something that you can't do without falling off the track! The controls only suffer from that but everything else like the boosts, the brakes, the shunts and stunts are really easy to pull off. That is probably the best part of the game.

Game play-The game play is really hard when you don't even know how to do half of the controlled moves to hit cars off of the track! Especially when the computers can't stop doing it! The game is like the last F-Zero game! It's just way too hard so you need either amazing gaming skills or a cheater's brain! The game is just a lot harder than you would think.

Graphics-The graphics are okay but they don't have enough details like in other futuristic racers. What you always want is great graphics in a futuristic racer! that's really the only reason why anybody would buy a futuristic racer than any other need for speed game or a burnout game! Whenever your car blows up it's always the same shape whenever it blows up! It's the car all black and without the wheels and the explosions don't even look cool! The graphics look more like a game cube game and I think the developers are just being lazy because we have seen what the Wii can do with it's graphics with games like Super Mario Galaxy and the conduit! The graphics need to be better for all games on the Wii! And if they throw out another stupid add-on then I am gonna just go and trade my Wii in for an Xbox!

Good-The tracks look beautiful at times and it's like the roller coaster you've always wanted to ride and since I am a big fan of roller coasters, I really like racers that you can ride on really crazy tracks that go upside down and when you ride on a pipe! It's just awesome!

Bad-The bad aspects are not many but it still can't get away with that! The computer players are just crazy and they are determined to kill you! The tracks are really hard and it is really hard with my bad skills! The game only has 2 player mode and no 3 or 4 players! The game's graphics are also not as good as they should be! The last F-Zero game was way better looking than that! And this is a next-gen console!

Overall-This is a game for hardcore fans of speed racer and for fans of all racing games! This game will serve as a challenge to unlock more than a few tracks. There are a lot of cars to unlock but after you beat the game, which you probably can never pull off, there is no replay value except for multiplayer mode. But if you really like racing games, you can buy it. For everyone else, at least rent it because this is enjoyable at times. I give Speed Racer for the Wii, a 7/10!
