Quick Message
============
This is my first faq for gamefaqs. It has been done in a few
hours and so is at the moment rushed, not as well presented as
it will be in its final form, and probably sometimes a bit too much
rambling for its own good. I will update and fix up any mistakes,
change things in it, and also add bits and pieces when I get time
over the next few weeks. Like I said, it was done in a few hours of
playing Strangers Wrath for my third time and I typed up what I could
while I did it.

===============
A. Introduction
===============

The following is a guide to collect the 12 MAJOR bounties in
Oddworld Strangers Wrath. While I may write a full game faq
one day, for now I have noticed many people having trouble
understanding how the boss system works, with a few bosses
proving the most difficult. Hopefully this should help a
little bit. I will add other people's strategies to this faq,
And give full credit to the posters of other strategies.
Just for those worried over the fact that there are only 12
bounties in the game, in case you've nearly done them already,
well, if that's the case then you're just over halfway through
the game, so don't worry, there is still plenty to go.

============
B. Must Read
============

By now if you have the game, your either enjoying it, struggling
through it, or confused with it about a few things. A few
reviewers of certain "high profile" videogame websites have
reviewed this game without actually playing it properly,
due to time constraints or simply played through certain
bosses in panic, and have falsely reported the games boss
bounty system as being "impossible to capture an enemy alive",
Or having a "big flaw".

This game is not flawed where the bosses' bounties are concerned.
Here are some things to know, so that you do not make the same
mistake as these "professional game reviewers" have.

Capturing a regular bounty can be easy. To capture a boss alive
is different from capturing a regular enemy alive. A boss has a
stamina bar, just like Stranger himself has.

This is important to know, because you do not capture a boss
alive by surprising him, you capture him alive by weakening his
stamina bar to nothing before you capture him alive. You can be
quick and capture some bosses when they are knocked down, but
as a general rule, if you want to capture a boss bounty alive
you have to wear down their stamina bar, not their life bar.

Different weapons take different amounts of life from a bosses
stamina and life bar. On an early boss, Boilz Booty, using a
Boombat on him will take off more of the bosses stamina bar than
It will of his life bar. The thing is though, the bosses stamina
Bar is always replenishing, so to capture them alive you must
Keep pressure on their stamina bar to take them alive.

It is easier than a lot of people are making it out to be. The
Reason most people are not capturing the bosses alive, (besides
Those who do want them dead) is that most people are rushing and
panicking against the boss, and using regular "shoot anything that
moves" type of strategy that most people used to First Person
Shooters use. This game brings some great Elements to a fps as far
as how its boss battles are designed.
If you take a few moments on each boss you will work out how to
Capture them alive fairly easily. If you still can't, this faq will
hopefully help you on your way.

==================
C. Twelve Bounties
==================

1.
Name: Blisterz Booty
Alive: $200
Dead: $100

"He's been harassing the town of Buzzarton for a while. He's also got
a brother: Boilz Booty."

Location: found at the start of the game. You don't fight this boss,
it is done in the Fmv sequence before the game begins. All you have to
do is suck him up in the tutorial.

2.
Name: Filthy Hands Floyd
Alive: $200
Dead: $100

"Floyd's known for robbing wagon trains. Go out the north gate, past
the farm, that's were them wagons been disappearing."

Location: Dead Hen's Pass (north of town)

Alive strategy: He has two basic "boys" with him, lure them to you with
a chipmunk and capture them easily. Now, head up the slope to Floyd,
run around the corner, shoot him with a bolamite and bounty him quickly
for the easiest boss bounty in the game.

Dead Strategy: After taking out his boys, shoot a bunch of fuzzles with
one or two zappflie shots to capture him dead.

3.
Name: Looten Duke
Alive: $600
Dead: $200

"The Duke's taken over the water facility, follow them pipes out the
west gate to find him."

Location: He's located at the Water Facility.(west of town)

Alive strategy: Take out his rocket launching buddies with your zappflies,
thudslugs, and fuzzles. After they're defeated the Duke will come out.
Start by shooting him with a thudslug which will knock him down, then shoot
him with a charged zappflie. Keep doing this until him stamina is completely
down and capture him alive. By doing it this way he should never get a shot
on you. Basically this combo works well because the thudslug takes good
stamina off and knocks him down, allowing you to get an extra charged
zappflie hit on him before he gets up in time for your next thudslug.

Dead Strategy: Run straight up to one of the slopes, look towards the
house, on the left and right sides of the house are spinning blades.
Shoot a thudslug at the Duke from above when he's in front of one of
these, he'll fall in and be splattered into a million pieces.

4.
Name: Boilz Booty
Alive: $600
Dead: $300

"Word on the street is Boilz is coming to break out his brother who's
in the town's jail. Best be careful with this one!"

Location: You face off with him in a showdown in town.

Alive strategy: Take out his many minions first so that it leaves just
you and him Then shoot him with boombats, thudslugs and zappflies if
need be to take him alive. Boombats take the most stamina off him,
and knock him down. Thudslugs also knock him down and take off a good
amount of stamina. Best combo is a boombat to knock him down, then a
charged zappflie, then a boombat when he gets up, rinse, repeat.

Dead Strategy: Fuzzles are the easiest way to kill him, with some
boombats, thudslugs and zappflies thrown in. The only way you'll capture
him dead is if you don't keep the pressure on his stamina bar, because
the weapons take more of his stamina than his life.

5.
Name: Eugenius
Alive: $1000
Dead: $0

"Word is Eugene's being held at the old Native temple by the Dandy
Digger Gang."

Location: First make sure you talk to the professor inside the General
Store so as yo open up the exit out of town to the Temple, leave town
out of the upper door that opens up for to make your way towards saving
Eugenius.

Alive strategy: There is no boss strategy for this bounty, as there is
no boss. The temple room is filled with enemies in the hopes of
overpowering you, but you can defeat every enemy in the room either
by going in all guns blazing, or by capturing them all alive. Basically
just like running through the areas in the game with enemies. Once
they are all dead or captured, Eugenius will come out of his cell and
will help you leave the temple a new way.

Dead Strategy: You cannot let him die.

6.
Name: Jo'Mamma
Alive: $800
Dead: $400

"She's one mean Momma. Her boys been hiding out in the old ship wreck."

Location: Take the sewer exit out of town to be on your way to Jo'Momma
and the old ship wreck at the end of the sewers.

Alive strategy: Jo'Momma is easily taken alive as long as you don't sit
around waiting to take her ground enemies out one by one, as they will
continue to respawn thanks to Jo'Mommas commands. This boss gets some
people because they play that way.

Now, at the start, she has a single outlaw shooter on the ground, two
nailers which can be annoying, and she will also call snipers in from
the sides. She has two more shooters on a middle level, and two more
shooters with her on her level.

Easiest way to do this is as follows. First, hide behind the rock
closest to the middle, and shoot a chipmunk away from the canyon.
The one ground shooter will run for it, zappflie him and capture him alive.
Then, shoot a zappflie at the elevator switch, which will begin to bring
the elevator down.

The two nailers will come a running, so just run around them and time it
so you reach the elevator as just after it hits the ground, and you'll
be one your way up easily. On the way up just protect yourself from the
two shooters in the middle by firing back.

Once you reach the top, let loose with as many fuzzles as you can towards
the ground in front of the second switch, because other wise Jo'Momma will
try and electrifry you when you cross the gap. Shoot the switch with a
zappflie, and shimmy across to her side, all the while she?ll be having
lots of issues with the fuzzles, as will the other two minions. Once across,
get rid of them two first, and then just shoot charged zappflies at her
while she is jumping around from the fuzzles. If the fuzzles run out,
just use your thudslugs and zappflies.

By the way, Boombats due massive damage to her stamina bar, almost three
quarters of it in fact.

Dead Strategy: Basically the same as the alive strategy, only because
killing most bosses takes longer, and involves letting them have time
to get their stamina back, to kill Jo Momma you could just fire a hell
of a lot of Stingbees into her once you get to the other side, instead
of your zappflies.

7.
Name: Meagly Mcgraw
Alive: $900
Dead: $300

"Ohh Meagly likes them opples. I heard he's been seen at the farm right
before town."

Location: Located in the farmhouse that is located just before the town.
The same house that you may or may not have pocketed some extra money
from earlier in the game.

Alive strategy: Heading back to the farm from town, Meagly Mcgraw is
hiding in the farmers house at the back of the farm. He has about 16-18
enemies located around the farm, half of the around the yard, and the
other half inside the house, but he will order them out of the house to
get you. Best idea here is to take out his minions first. Be as creative
as you want. A few chipmunks under the pounding machine is a good way to
rid the yard of enemies if you don't mind them dead, otherwise, just take
em out however you normally do. Once all his minions are done, prepare to
fight Meagly in two stages.

In the first stage, do not worry about his stamina bar. He is riding on
some pet monster, and you have to kill the monster before you can attempt
to take Meaglys life or stamina off. Boombats, and stingbees work well,
thudslugs do little damage against the first incarnation.

Once his pet is dead, just use a combo of thudslugs followed by two
charged shots, another thudslug and so on to wear down his stamina bar
quickly. Boombats are good also, just make sure to watch his life bar.
He can do a fair amount of damage to you if your not careful and he will
run off, so just pursue him, when he gets up put him back down and he wont
be able to touch you.

Dead Strategy: Just about anything works quickly here, you have the whole
farm to run away and hide in if you like. Maybe you wanna get creative and
squish him under the pounding machine, or just take some shots at him one
bit at a time. Either way, with only Meagly on the farm, he is easily killed.

8.
Name: Packrat Palooka
Alive: $800
Dead: $300

"He went and took Eugenius? laptop. Now that might not sound like much, but
its got the towns power grid on it!"

Location: To find him, go into the sewer entrance and you will talk to a
guy named Scuzz. He will give you a password, which you can use to enter
the junkyard located at the end of town.

Alive strategy: This boss looks to be giving people the most problems, but
if you take some initiative this boss fight can be over before its even began.

Basically, when you first start fighting Palooka, he is firing homing
missiles at you. You can't hit him coz hes on a stage with a shield. You
have to shoot four switches with charged zappflies to get rid of his shield
temporarily. Once its down, you have two choices, either, take the quick way
and capture him alive, or take the long way, which makes the boss fight get
harder and harder the longer it goes on.

So, if your reading this, and you cannot beat him, because your only dealing a
bit of damage at a time, then heres the quick way.

This boss has 3 different stages of "aggression". You wanna capture him alive
in the first stage, or, the second stage. It is almost impossible to get him
alive in the third stage.

In his first stage, he's the only one firing at you. Use the fences to your
advantage to dodge his incoming missiles and take out his shields. Before you
take the fourth switch out shoot some fuzzles in front of the stage on the
ground. Then, shoot the last switch, and then fire a boombat onto the stage,
preferably onto him. It will blast him off the stage onto the ground. Now, the
trick is, to fire a few more boombats onto him, followed by my usually
combination of Thudslug/followed by a charged Zappflie. If you keep knocking
him down with thudslugs after a zappflie, he wont be able to leave or fire on
you, and his stamina will go down completely, leaving you a nice easy Palooka
to take in alive.

I know it seems rather simple, but it does work and it works almost too
easy if you do it right.

REASON IT SEEMS SO HARD
The reason it seems so hard at first is because most people, including myself,
when they first play this boss figure hmmm, try and slowly wear him down. By
doing so, you set the boss off into a progressively stronger state.

First, on the right and left of the fences, missiles will begin firing at you.
Think of this as stage 1. Stage 2 involves Palooka, those missiles, and two
shooters attacking you all at once. Stage 3 involves all that and a flamer to
fight as well. Finally, the boss will come down himself to hunt you down, and
once this has happened it is too hard to get him alive because his life wont
be able to take the hits that it would require for the stamina to get low
enough to get him alive.

The first time I beat him it was that hard way. Each stage is worked out by
how much life he has lost before it becomes harder. If you want a challenge,
that's the way to go. But if you want him alive then the first strategy is the
way to go.

Dead Strategy: Basically, the dead strategy is outlasting his stages till he
comes down to face you. You cannot kill him till he does come down. Of course,
you could just blow him off the stage, knock him out with some
boombats/thudslugs, and a heap of stingbees to kill him. But, this is
definitely one of those times where it is much quicker and easier to take
the boss alive than dead.

9.
Name: X'plosives Mcgee
Alive: $1100
Dead: $400

"Once you go after X'plosives there aint no turning back. So be ready for
anything!"

Location: He is located "High in the canyons", get to X'plosives by taking
the elevator at the end of town. After the elevator a mine cart ride will
put you in the right direction.

Alive strategy: This boss is pretty cool, and like the last one, has three
stages he goes through, only this time you have to beat him through the
stages.

He starts out on his mine cart, and he will keep circling the area. There
are three switches, and when you hear a bell go off if you shoot that
switch that hes about to go through, it will force him down a level.

High level: When he's circling the highest point, there is a flamer on the
ground, so take him out first. Also, there are three snipers up high, each
with a barrel next to them, so just shoot the barrels and once they're all
dead shoot the first switch when the time calls for it.

Middle Level: Once he is circling the middle level, two Semi Autos will
come out of some cart doors; both have barrels next to them. Also, a shooter
is on the ground so take them all out before moving on. Once you have, shoot
the next switch when you need to.

Low Level: Once he is on his lowest level, a big door will open up while
he's circling. Again, there is a shooter and 2 semi Autos inside. They
should be easily taken out. There is also a mechanical flame thrower
inside which you might wanna blow up. When you clear the area, shoot the
final switch and X'plosives will finally have to get out of his cart and
face you on the ground.

Ground Level: He can pack some major firepower if you're not careful and
can kill you in seconds. There is also a turret on one side that you should
be careful of in this final fight with X'plosives. If you want him alive,
best way is to circle strafe around the structure in the middle, shooting
him with a Thudslug/charged Zappflie combo at once. It won't knock him down,
in fact, you won't be able to knock him down, but 5 or 6 combined shots like
that and he'll be off in lala land and you'll have yourself an alive and
captured X'plosives.

Dead Strategy: Stingbees, or by blowing up the barrels in the middle
structure when he's under it. Boombats hardly touch him, and in all
honesty the only reason you'd capture him dead is if your trying to kill
every single boss, or if you have his life way down and keep running off
hence making his stamina go back up.

10.
Name: Lefty Lugnutz
Alive: $700
Dead: $200

"He's been known to poach slegs around these parts."

Location: After you talk to Sleg hunter in town, (hes behind the general
store) head out of town into the entrance to the Mongo Wilds(Left from
the lake outside of town). Kill the massive Sleg there, head back to town,
you'll learn a Sleg call, and now head right of the lake downriver to find
Lefty Lugnutz.

Alive strategy: Like the last few bosses, Lefty ends up having a few different
stages to go through. In stage 1, he will start off hiding, and there will be
6 shooters scattered around the map. Take these guys out, and then lefty will
appear in the center hut. On your right a sniper will also appear. Shoot
Lefty with Thudslugs and Boombats. After a few shots, he will disappear into
the left hut, and a sniper will appear in the center hut. Take the second
sniper out and get what damage you can onto Lefty.

Now, Lefty will go into hiding again and there will be one semi auto, as
well as 3 shooters trying to get you. After capturing or killing them,
Lefty will appear in the lone high hut on the cliff. Shoot him with what
you can, thudslugs, Boombats, Zappflies, wearing him down. Finally,
he will appear in the center hut again with another sniper. Take out the
sniper and put a little damage on good ole lefty and he will jump down
to take you on. Once he does, finish him off with some Thudslugs/Zappflies
combos and you'll get him alive.

Dead Strategy: Not much of a strategy, but do what is said above, and if
you wanna kill him just dodge him around the graves after he's dropped
to the ground. Take his life off a bit at a time. There is plenty of
Boombat ammo around to do so as well.

11.
Name: Elboze Freely
Alive: $1000
Dead: $500

"People spotted him on the beach head outside of town. Don't get too close
though, he'll knock you out."

Location: Head past the Mongo wilds, and eventually you will come to his
lair. Your going the right way if you hit a beach full of minions and
lots of explosive barrels.

Alive strategy: Taking him out alive isn't as easy for this boss, because
you can finish him off easily if your patient. But if you follow this
strategy, and you get your timing right, the boss fight will be one of the
simplest you'll face. You start in a circular room. There are three fans
that propel you in the air, and ten high platforms circling the room.
Basically you cannot hit Elboze anywhere except on his back, but to get to
see his back you need to use one of the fans to propel you up to a platform.

Under each platform is a switch, which he will go to push the moment your
on a platform. Drop off a platform in first person mode the moment you
touch it, and shoot him in the back with a Thudslug/Zappdflie combo.
Then, quickly move back, use the same fan and float to the closest
platform, (which wont be the one you were just on, because he hit the
switch) and again, the moment you touch the platform drop down and shoot
him with the same combo. If you hit it accurately each time, 5 hits or
less and you can capture him alive.

Dead Strategy: If you take your time, use the same above strategy,
only with boombats, thudslugs, stingbees, then you can kill him rather
easily and wont be in as much of a panic if you miss his back as you would
if your trying to keep his stamina low. He is an easy boss either way,
but if your not worried about getting him alive, just take your time and
pick your moments.

12.
Name: Fatty McBoomboom
Alive: $1000
Dead: $500

"Fatty's been bribing the town, so you might have trouble finding his hideout.
Watch out for his crazy wrastlin' move."

Location: Once you get this bounty head outside the bounty store and talk
to a well dressed guy in town. He will allow you to catch an elevator
outside of town to his lair.

Alive strategy: You can finish this boss VERY quickly, but the easiest way
to capture him alive is just to be patient. It may seem like he has unlimited
minions but he doesn't, as the in game hint system will tell you. As long as
you just wait back and kill/capture his minions as they come along, you can
ignore him until his minions are done. Then, wait for him to do his "wrastlin
move", once he does, just shoot my favourite combo of Thudslugs/charged
Zappflie at once, rinse, repeat.

In case you want a rundown of how many minions to wait for; I jotted down,
4 snipers, 7 semi autos, and 15 shooters to kill/blow up/capture. I may be
one or two off the mark. But basically, follow those numbers and you'll have
a very easy to capture Mcboomboom.

As I mentioned above, you can do it a faster way, but its way, way risky.
If you move closer, to say the rock distance from him he will do his wrastlin
move more, and if you take advantage of it, the thudslug/charged zappflie
combo can finish him much much quicker than playing patient, but chances are
you might get shot up pretty badly too. It is possible though, as that is
how I finished him on my first playthrough, but the more patient way is
definitely THE way to capture him safely.

Dead Strategy: At this point in the game, if you cannot figure out how
to get his guy dead, well, then anything I could write here wouldn't help
either.

Well, that's that. Now you can prepare yourself for the second half of the
game, where the gameplay becomes more of a pure adventure title mixed with a
lot of fps elements. The bounties may be finished, but the game has a long way
to go yet.
