1. Introduction
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This is a character guide for the character Havik from Mortal Kombat:
Armageddon. For information on Havik in Mortal Kombat: Deception please
consult my Havik FAQ in the MK: Deception FAQ section. This guide should
contain everything you need to know about Havik, so if anyone has any of their
own combos, feel free to email any combos or strategies to me and if they are
effective I will add them to this guide and give you credit, simply give me
a name in which you wish to be credited as. However, if I do not find certain
information useful to this guide, or if it has already been covered in the
same fashion, the strategies may not be added to the guide. A simple reminder
if you see this guide on any other website other than GameFAQs or Neoseeker
please notify me so the guide can be removed from other websites. Thanks, and
I hope you enjoy this guide.
Also please be wary that I will not respond to e-mails if they do not make any
sense. Please use proper grammar and spelling. I don't care if your writing
isn't perfect, but e-mails that use excessive amounts of internet slang and do
not make sense will not be replied to.

3. Havik's Storyline
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
|Havik in a nutshell|:
Havik is a cleric of chaos. He goes around promoting his own agenda to cause
chaos. He favours the rule of Shao Kahn in outworld over Onaga because when
Shao Kahn was the ruler chas was present more often. This is clearly obvious
because of the ending he has in Deception where he resurrects the then thought
dead Shao Kahn to restore chaos. This was proven non-canon however because in
the GameCube version of MK: Deception Shao Kahn is a playable character and
his bio states that he created a clone of himself and abandoned his fortress
so he could regain his power at a later time. Thus Quan Chi and Shang Tsung
really only killed a clone of Shao Kahn. Cheesy? Yes. But hey, it's Mortal
Kombat.
Havik's alternate costume was originally planned to be an alternate costume
for Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat: Deception. However due to the odd nature of
the costume and the fact that it was slightly far-fetched for a Noob Saibot
outfit Midway decided to turn the alternate costume into a new character named
Skab. Midway clearly liked this design too much to throw it away. Later
during development Midway changed his name from Skab to Havik and created a
new primary costume for him. The original design for Noob's alternate became
Havik's alternate costume, but it was originally intended as Havik's primary.
In the end, Midway went with tradional outfits for Noob Saibot in both
Deception and Armageddon.
|Mortal Kombat: Deception Bio 1|:
Chaos. The universe thrives on it. Forces pitted against each other in
never-ending turmoil. My kind worships entropy. We wander the realms sowing
disorder. My latest sojourn had brought me to Lei Chen, an Outworld city
imprisoned by the one known as Hotaru. For many years he had kept chaos at
bay beyond the outer walls. I would undo the order he had fought so hard to
maintain.
|Mortal Kombat: Deception Bio 2|:
It was I who led the "heroes" to the location of the Dragon King. The chaos
that would ensue from their attack would be a blessing to this realm. Onaga
must never gain the upper hand in this struggle. The realms shall never cease
their struggle! Chaos will reign forever!
|Mortal Kombat: Deception Ending|:
[There is a picture of Havik ripping out the Dragon King's heart]
The others had defeated the Dragon King, but left his broken body unattended on
the floor of his throne room. Not long ago, a similar fate had fallen his
former advisor, Shao Khan. Havik ripped the still-warm heart from the carcass
and consumed it, thus absorbing Onaga's Power to reanimate the dead.
[Changes to a picture of Havik bringing Shao Khan back to life]
Had the Dragon King succeeded in his plans of total domination, the never-ending
turmoil of life would have come to a stifling halt. Those who defeated him
believe that the realms were at rest once more, but Havik vowed to restore
the Chaos that once ravaged Outworld, Shao Khan would rule again!
|Interesting notes on this ending|:
It is highly possible that Midway originally intended to bring back Shao Kahn
in the game that came after Deception that is why this ending was made. Signs
of other characters endings pointed to the fact that Onaga was most likely
slain and Shao Kahn would return. Shao Kahn was originally supposed to be
dead, however due to the fact that the GameCube does not support online play
Midway added Shao Kahn and Goro to the GameCube version several months later
when it was released and made up a quick reason to how Shao Kahn survived Quan
Chi and Shang Tsungs attack.
|Mortal Kombat Armageddon Ending|:
Infused with the power of Blaze, the Cleric of Chaos, Havik, became Chaos
incarnate! His aura corrupted the stability of the realms, causing them to
rip, tear and reshape in grotesque ways. Soon nothing remained that resembled
the former universe. Havik's dream had been realized. Ultimate Chaos had
been achieved.

TORSO SPIN: D,B+1

CRACKLING LEGS PROJECTILE: B,F+3
HEAD SNAP: B,F+2
CORPSE TAUNT: F,B+4
Chaos Axe Kick Description:
Havik grabs his opponent, turns him around, kicks him in the back of the leg,
and then does an overhead kick that smashes them into the ground causing them
to bounce back up. This throw is an excellent way of starting air combos.
Torso Spin Description:
Havik spins his upperbody back and forth with his arms sticking out sideways
smacking them into his opponent. This attack is useful because it causes him
to rush forward and it causes decent damage.
Diving Corpse Description:
Havik dives down and slides under his opponents legs causing them to launch
into the air and go flying in the opposite direction of Havik. This special
is useful for changing sides with your opponent quickly and catching them off
guard because they have to block low. So this move can essentially be used
as somewhat of a teleport. It is useful for getting away from death traps.
Crackling Legs Projectile Description:
Havik bends his knees backwards and shoots a low projectile at his opponent.
This is a useful projectile to catch players off guard because they may not
have enough reaction time to do a low block. However be careful because it
is an easy attack to jump over and there is a small recovery time for Havik
to return to his normal stance. In other words, don't abuse it over and over
again because you can put yourself in a dangerous situation.
Head Snap Description:
Havik breaks his neck and then snaps it back into proper position. This
special move is not an attack. It is used for taunting/regaining health
purposes only. You can use this taunt after you have knocked an opponent to
the ground where you have enough time to do this before they recover. Do not
use this if your opponent has the ability to attack you because you will
leave yourself wide open to attack. Every time this is used less health will
be recovered.
Corpse Taunt Description:
Havik bends his entire upper body backwards folding himself, and then he
returns to his normal stance. Like the Head Snap special move this is a
taunting move and recovers a small amount of health which becomes lower each
time the taunt is used. Use with caution.

6. Havik Strategies
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Ever since I purchased Mortal Kombat: Deception my favourite new character has
always been Havik. I enjoyed his fighting styles and weapons, and I think he
is a very good character. The best way to use Havik is to take advantage of
his fighting style's (Tang Soo Do) quick combos and his weapon's
(Morning Star) excellent air combos. Havik doesn't have as many opportunities
to use his air combos as much using Tang Soo Do as he does when using the
Morning Star. One of the best strategies I have found using havik against
regular sized characters is switching between using quick Tang Soon Do combos
to going into air combat. Havik also has many attacks which knock his
opponent away from him and on the ground. This gives him the opportunity to
use a taunt and regain some health.
The best way to do this is go through his (1,1,2,2) (1,1,3,3) and (1,1,2,3,4)
combos. The (1,1,2,3,4) combo is especially useful because even if they block
it the final hit is a low attack and many unexperienced players will not block
the last attack in the combo. Once they start understanding your strategy
use the (1,1,2,CS) combo. The last hit in this combo will bounce the opponent
into the air allowing you easy access to an air combo. His (3) and (B+2)
attacks for his Morning Star weapon are also great ways to start air combos.
Havik's combos might not have super high damage but his attacks are quick and
he has tons of combos.
Against boss characters exploit their weaknesses by abusing quick combos and
dodging their attacks then counter-attacking with a quick combo. This is the
easiest way to defeat larger enemies with Havik.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
7. Havik in Konquest
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Havik appears in konquest during Taven's time spent in the Netherrealm. You
must fight Havik during the time when Shinnok asks you to free his tower of
Demons. As you can see, Havik is still up to his Chaos promoting. His
alternate costume can also be found in Shinnok's spire. To do this, defeat
all of the enemies on the second floor and a treasure chest will appear with
his alternate costume. To select his alternate costume press start while
selecting Havik on the select screen instead of X or A.
