statusThe SPARTANS WERE regular soldiers who excelled in battle. They were given injections, training, artificial engineering essentially, and were put in highly advanced battle suits designed to overcome impossible conditions. This was all on Reach, but before they could be used to turn the tide of the war, Reach was annihilated.
