I know it works because my frined has a 360 and i played it and i like it so i ask him if i can take it home to play, so i put it in mine and it wont play it and the messege pops out whe a x-box game wont work, Do i need live and update it so it will work or what?

statusYou need to get an update from XboxLive, you don't need an account just access to the internet.

You can download the compatibility upgrade from the xbox360 website and burn it to a CD or DVD and it will update your system.

It don't work on my 360 either. I also have updated via live but it still won't work. I have Pal EU version ??
