Steel Battalion: Line of Contact

I just found out I have a friend who also posseses the game and behemoth controller, and while he has Line of Contact, I do not. My original Steel Battalion game box indicates that the game lacks system link play, so does the pseudo-expansion include it or is it only meant to be played on XBL?
