What is the best weapon for assassins?

Are there any decent short blades and if there are where can i find them?

After Level 6 (or so), a Dark Brotherhood assassin will attack you as you try to rest. Simply read the journal update you're given after killing him, and the rest will be self-explanatory.

That's..........actually a tough one. Some of the best short blades in the game can only be claimed if you're proficiently skilled enough to complete certain quests.

The two most recommended Short Blades are the Black Hands Dagger (gained from an end-stage Morag Tong quest), and the Dagger of Symmachus (gained from a Tribunal "Throne Room" quest). You can also get an Adamantium Jinkblade of Wounds (Paralyze for 5 seconds, Poison 3 Points for 5 Seconds) from higher-level Dark Brotherhood members in Mournhold.
