"The Grand Prix of Moto Games"
Introduction:
For those who have never experienced the feeling of intense speed and wind on the fastest racing machine possible, here's the next best thing. As a fan of all motorcycle racing game, and I mean "All", this is the best.
Game Play: 10/10
The bike controls are acurate to the touch, and very easy to use. In Offline mode you complete tasks and game skill points to put on your bike, which will later come in handy on the on-line mode. The offline is pretty basic in that there's not much to do besides race bots, build up your bike and do non stop time-trials. Were this game shines in the on-line. Sims make this one of the most competitive racers out there. Unlike cars motorcycles are based primarily on cornering rather than acceleration & braking. The simulation alone makes this a unique and interesting experience to behold.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in Moto Grand Prix are simply amazing. The bikes look great and very believable. The scenery is luscious and colorful. When the bike goes past about 165 mph the scenery blurs, which is very realistic. The graphics really keep up with the speed of the game , which is fast indeed.
Sound: 10/10
The sound is dead-on in this game. The bikes motor makes realistic sounds, as well as the brakes and crashes. One of the most enticing reasons I bought the Xbox was because you can download soundtracks to your console and listen to them while driving, biking, etc. With the combination of motor noise and a nice tune makes this game something to remember!
Recommend: 8/10
What makes this game, to me, the best all around is that you can go on Xbox Live and compete with friends. If you have Xbox Live then I strongly recommend it. If you cant afford or don't want to deal with the 50$ yearly payment on Xbox Live then I still recommend it, just not as strong. I must warn those who are not ready for a type of racing that is highly simulated to stay away. The people that don't like this game are the one's that drive backwards on tracks playing chicken.
Buy/Rent: 8/10
Please Buy, it's worth it now that the game is only about 20$. For those who are too cheap to buy, just rent the game, make a bike to your liking and play on-line.
Overall: 9/10
I've played all of the motorcycle games around. After many sequels, MotoGP remains the original moto experience. This game is very unique to me. It symbolizes the "Old-School" motorcycle racer. I can easily say this is my favorite on-line game ever. The Moto Grand Prix is where the best of the best come to compete, that's why I think this game has still got what it takes to be the Tetris of Motorcycle Racing.
