Madden NFL 2004

"BIG Madden fan here telling you that this game....STINKS!"

I recently picked this game up off of ebay for 51 cents delivered. I don't want to spam but usually Ebay is a good play to pick used video games up cheap. So I bought Madden NFL 2004. I know that it is July 2006 and Madden 07 is about to come out and theres a bunch of hype around it and I don't want to compare this games features to the expectations of Madden 07 so lets get into it...

Game play- ughhh I'll explain
(STORY TIME) (READ BELOW FOR ACTUAL REVIEW)
I really don't want to bash a Madden game. I'm a HUGE Madden fan and I love playing the games. I have owned a PS2 for about as long as it's been out. Though recently it broke and I sold my PSP to buy an xbox. (Long story) Well to make a long story short I bought an Xbox because I was bored with my PS2. I couldn't wait for games to come out on PSP and like I said I was bored with my PS2. Another reason is the Madden Challenge. Every Madden players dream is to win the big competiton. I thought I might give it a go last year. I went 176-20-1 All madden on 06. Though come on I don't want to babble on about me so lets get on to you and knowing how GREAT this game is! HA!

The game play I guess I'd have to say it's somewhat smooth you could say. The game isn't really fun though. As a fan of every Madden game old and new it was a disappointment. It was like a cheap PS2 Madden 2004 knockoff. I couldn't believe it. I could see my self actually playing it later on tonight but at the current moment I only own 2 Xbox games so that's the only reason why. I can't even grade the game play because I really basically don't know how to grade it.

Graphics-7.5
The Xbox is made by Microsoft so basically it's like a computer. The graphics are bound to be good and this game shows. I've played every Madden out for PS2 though I've only played Madden 2004 for Xbox. With Madden 2004 for Xbox I'm disappointed. The game could of been a lot better but keep in mind this is 2006. If I were to write this review in late 2003 when the game first came out then I would of been like "Hey this is the greatest game ever!" But no it isn't. It's all right and the graphics are about the only good thing about this game.

Sound-7
I didn't play this game with the sound up too high because I know what they were going to say. The same thing as the PS2 version. Though if you haven't played the PS2 version then let me educate you. In the Xbox version the sound is all right no disappointments or anything. I don't know why anyone would be disappointed. The sound is clear and great.

Controls- 2
WORST CONTROLS I HAVE EVER SEEN! I have only owned my Xbox for about 2-4 months now I cant remember. I know the controls pretty well because I own NBA 2K6 and you use the right analog stick a lot so I'm pretty well educated on the buttons. Anyway the Y button is to switch your passing icons off and that messes me up. I can see how a beginner would get used to it but as an experienced Madden gamer then I know the controls of a lot of systems and if you are a Madden fan usually playing on the PS2 or any other system besides the 360 then this gets frustrating. Also the juke buttons are just horrible. I have not played any other Madden games for the Xbox system, but the juking if it hasn't changed in Madden 05 and so on then it should really get updated.

So overall I give this game a 5/10. It was a big disappointment. I don't even thing I'm going to play this game at all. O.K I lied sense I have 2 games for xbox right now I'll most likely play this game later but again that's the only reason why. So if you play this game and like it great. I just thought that you should hear from a really Madden gamer first hand. Hope this helps!
