Evil Dead: Regeneration

"Regeneration: Kill a few and laugh a lot!"

Overview:

Ash is back, in a cheap but great game. This is the second installment of Evil Dead on the current generation of game counsels. As with the first Evil Dead on this generation counsels Regeneration comes with a nice price tag. This is a great game, the controls are easy to memorize and the story is funny and keeps you playing.

Game play: 9/10

The story is a bit repetitive; you need to close the portals that are spewing evil into the world. That one the bigger draw backs to this game. On the brighter side there are new enemies to kill, new tag lines, and most important a little person to help you on your way. When you and the little person are playing together you kick him around to help you out. You can kick him into objects or kill deadities with this wacky fellow. My favorite aspect of this game is how Ash decides to put the finishing move on deadities it is very funny. Although the game is somewhat repetitive from the last one but it is tons of fun.

Controls: 8/10

The controls are very simple; you can memorize them almost right away. The only thing that I found somewhat annoying is that you control the camera angle with the right stick but it is very sensitive and easily can confuse you during game play. Also it can be difficult especially during battles to use the little person as a killing projectile seeing that he runs around and tries to keep out of the way. Also you must be precise on where you are kick him which until you get more experienced in the matter.

Sound 9/10

The sound is great but I found that at times Ash's smart mouth comebacks are somewhat hushed. Otherwise, the sound is crisp and clear during cinematic sequences.

Overall

I would say that this is a great game to add into anybodies game collection assuming it does not offend tender sensibilities. It is funny, a bit wacky, and all about fun. The death scenes are great as so with the cinematic sequences. If I were to advice to rent or buy it, I would definitely say buy it. It will cost a few more donuts more but it is worth the buy.
