FlatOut 2

"Flatout 2 = Awesome"

The graphics in this game are much better than Flatout 1. The dust is lifelike. A great example is that when you are on the desert track, you don't want to be trailing right behind somebody because you will not be able to see. Some of the replays do have problems with the tires going through the fenders at places like the tracks with alot of jumps. But you can easily ignore these since they are only for about 1 second when the car lands. The dirt and smoke effects are awesome. The smoke could use a little better effects since it is a little bit too light. The pieces that come off of your car from hard contact still looks real as well.

Graphics- 8/10

Gameplay is much better than the original. The types of cars make it more strategy because the RWD works a bit worse on corners while 4WD trucks can make turns with ease. It also is fun to just choose a fast RWD car and just slide around the corners. The way the opponents really try to take you out sometimes is also a way to always know where your opponent is to try to outwit them. The different tracks also keep the racer wondering how they will combat the different terrain.

Gameplay- 9/10

Sound is pretty plain. The crash sounds are cool. About the coolest sound there is is when the guy is ejected and screams. The engine sounds go vary from the type of cars you drive but there isn't that much difference in them.

Sound- 7/10

Difficulty in this game is pretty random. You can run one race and win in 1:40 but the next race, you could finish 5th in 1:53. The opponents also can change in different races with their aggressiveness or if they want to race clean. This forces you to keep racing your hardest since they can make incredible comebacks. When the AI decides to run aggressive, you have to know where you are on the track since they can run you into the items on the sides of the roads.

Difficulty- 9/10

Overall, this game is a great improvement to the original Flatout. You could easily spend hours on this game just trying to unlock all of the different tracks and vehicles. That is why I, RacinHalo, give this game a 9 out o 10.
