"The Orge strikes out"

INTRODUCTION
Good old Shrek, came back with another hit movie "Shrek 2". So the story goes will the video game be as good as the movie? Read on and find out my friends. The first movie was good, the video game? Never played it, so I can't say anything good or bad about it. I will one day, just out of curiosity. All kids and adults loved this guy, and his pals, even the toys sold very nicely. Two years ago, I had a hell of a time getting me a hold of a Shrek toy for my niece, now, she don't bother playing with it any more.

GAME PLAY
This is one of the most bizarre, but cute games I have ever played. Of course you get to play as Shrek, unless you want to be one of his pal's or his girl fiend. They all have special moves. In each board you need one of those special moves to move on. This game starts off great. You move around in the forest beating up things and collecting power ups as you make your way to the castle. Once you reach the castle is all down hill. Every thing repeats itself over and over and over again. So in other words you get bored out of your mind. You wonder whats the point, cause the story is just like the movie, so you aren't missing much, cause if you do clear it, you know whats going to happen. The worse part is the Simon says games at the end of each level. Yep, that's your boss part. Remember the little round game with the flashing colors? It's just the same you have to watch the screen and hit the right pattern of buttons to move on. Miss one and you back to the start. You need super fast reflexes for this game. Sorry but I just got annoyed with it after awhile.

APPEARANCE
This is the best part of the game. Everything looks just like the movie did. From the grass and land to the trees and the sky. Crystal clear graphics. You can't complain much here. You might want to play this game cause you a die-hard shrek fan, and love the graphics. Can't argue with that, to each there own. The characters look so live like it's truly amazing. Even the noise and the sound effects from each of the character sounds like they should sound like.

OVERALL
Well the bottom line is another hit movie bites the dust. As far as replay value goes, I didn't even care to finish it once. Doubt I will even try it again later, it's just going to sit in my collection for awhile till I decide what to do with it.
