Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

"Sweet!"

This is a great game. And a great sequal to a great series. The story is good, the controls smooth, the graphics. . . never mind. But in detail, here is why I like it.

GAME PLAY

Great gameplay. The controls flow very well with the game. Well, mostly. I would prefer a different force power button. To use it, you click the left thumbstick, which also moves. So if you are standing on a bridge over a bottomless pit, and use a force power, you may also walk off and fall screaming to your death. Yeah, not fun. Especially if you haven't saved lately. Other than that, it's pretty nice. And this is where the game shines, chaps. The lightsaber action. It's bloody brilliant! Instead of those overrated combos (blech) you control the direction of our lightsaber swing. You aim it like you would a gun, with a reticule. And the result is the main reason this game is awesome. Plus you actually DO use a gun, and it's fun. There is a shotgun, and I used it on this poor chap who didn't see me. And I kid you not, he flew about two hundred feet into the air. And if not for any other reason, you should buy this game for that.

As already said, they are smooth, except when using force.

GRAPHICS

The only bad thing about this game. The graphics are not good, chaps. The look like a bloody NES game! Well, not really, but you get my point. But if you're a graphics freak, you will probably say the same thing. I think the game is easily fun enough to just simply ignore the graphics.

STORY

Pretty good. It is: There is a sith who has issues. She thinks she can revive a dead Sith Lord and that he'll give her everything she ever wanted. So she and a bunch of followers try to revive him with an old magical staff. And it might work, so you hav to stop her.

FEATURES

Unlike most Star Wars games lately you are <insert character appearance here>. That so beats being a real character. In other words, you make your own character. And, the best bit, you make your own lightsaber! And after a while you can get dual lightsabers, and (drumroll please) a bloody DOUBLE-BLADED LIGHTSABER!!! SWEET!

RENT OR BUY OR TRASH

BUY for the love of all things good! If you trash it you are crazy! You can rent it first though, because I am NOT one for wasting money. But (if you can find it, which is pretty hard to do) I would definitely buy this masterpiece.
