Sonic Heroes
Review by dragoon6181
"Team Work? I prefer working independently."
When I first heard of this game and saw how awesome it looked, I wanted to get this game so badly. It was for all three of the recent systems: Game Cube, PS2, and X Box. When I got the game and began playing it, it was great and not like any other Sonic games. After halfway through the game, I grew bored of it and did not feel like finishing it mainly because it was getting to hard, especially Team Chaotix missions.
Gameplay: 5/10
Sonic Heroes is a game where each team has three characters, each that has their own skill: Speed, Flight, and Strength. For example, in Team Sonic, Sonic is speed, Tails is flight, and Knuckles is strength. The game is fun at first, when the levels are much easier and does not require you to re-do them many times. But later in the game, when it becomes much harder, it will be much harder and you may get frustrated with it. I also did not like the battle formation either. The speed formation is almost useless in my opinion. It's very weak and useless most of the time.
Graphics: 9/10
The graphics for this game is amazing. The probably one of the good factors of the game. The landscape is colorful and looks appealing and the characters have their own styles and appearances. The game's graphics are slightly better than all of the other 3-D Sonic games.
Sound/Music: 7/10
The game has awesome music, that is only some of the levels, but I was a little bit disappointed in the sound effects. It does not compare to the older Sonic games' sounds, but I guess the sounds are okay.
Storyline: 3/10
The storyline is almost the same as it is in most of the Sonic games. Each team has a different storyline. The storylines are boring though in my opinion. For Team Sonic, Sonic and his pals is basically trying to find and defeat Dr. Eggman. For Team Rose, Amy and her other team members are trying to find what they loved most. For Team Dark, they are trying to find Eggman for their own reasons. Along the way, they meet up with their rivals, Team Sonic. And for Team Chaotix, they finally have a mission from a mysterious person and do whatever the mysterious person tells them along the way. Those storylines are not very interesting, huh?
Replay Value:1/10
After you beat this game, there is pretty much nothing you can do now. I think replaying the game is a waste of time. The main reason you will probably play the game again is to try to get a higher rank.
Overall: 5/10
If you are a fan of Sonic games, you will most likely be disappointed in this game. I say you rent this game rather than buying it. Even though it cost $19.99 now, I still don't think it is worth it at all.
