"Great Soccer Game For Fans And Gamers"

EA has done it again with FIFA By adjusting the game controls, adding great game modes, and supporting the vastly popular Xbox Live system, FIFA 2005 is the best soccer game around for the Xbox.

Let's start with what has to be the most important part of a soccer game; the controls. EA has done an amazing job with the controls, and specifically, the first touch controls. This feature has given an amazing depth to the game and truly gives masters a way to separate themselves from the novices. The stick also gives you advanced moves which although are risky and useful for getting past tough defenders and leave you running with no ball in front of you. The ball is no longer just an animation in front of you, but has a presence of it's own and will go on it's own way if you mess up a trick.

Next, we'll talk about the heart and soul of this game, the Career mode. This mode puts you in the role of an upcoming manager. Don't expect to start off with a killer team like Manchester United or Juventus. You have to start out small, usually in the lower leagues and work your way up to being hired by a well known team. Although this is a bit annoying at first, it's all the more rewarding you feel when Barcelona decides they want you as a manager. Overall this mode is great and is very in depth, with player trading, scouting, injuries, and all. And don't expect this to be a pushover, either. You'll no longer be cursing through games with 2-0 or 3-0 victories near the end of the season when every team looking for that trophy for their display case. Winning the league truly feels like an accomplishment worth celebrating.

Of course, we've got to mention Xbox Live. No longer is it an excuse to claim distance issues when deciding who's the best soccer player at your school or job, Xbox Live brings the world to your television screen. Just find your friends and you've got instant enjoyment for hours and hours to come.

As a soccer fanatic and a game enthusiast, I can honestly say this game has satisfied both sides of myself. With deep and rich controls while remaining faithful to real life soccer, FIFA 2005 is the next best thing to heading out on the pitch yourself!
