TimeSplitters: Future Perfect
Review by therater13
"good story, average game play."
Time splitters future perfect, one of those average first person shooters you find somewhere cheap, when I saw this game I hadn't heard much about it and to be honest I was not expecting much. This game itself is not very good, however there are a few key features and some really interesting time zones that save it. For one the robot wars are awesome. I will get to the specifics later on in the review but I think this was good for a bargain bin price.
Graphics: To be honest, the graphics in this game are pretty weak. I would not say they are the worst I have ever seen, they are not as good as say, halo's or doom 3's but the game play is much better then doom 3 that's for sure. The character models look pretty nice and the guns look average. Needs work on the smaller details though.
Story: The story is funny that's for sure, there are a lot of small jokes in the game that give it a light mood and it makes it much more fun to play, this is probably the reason I played this game through, to see what Cortez would say next or what kind of silly mishap he would find himself in.
Audio: The voice acting in this game is quite strong, well for the main character at least, the rest of the characters are not voiced all that well. Cortez sounds good though. The gun shots are average in this game but the music is also very average in this game. I think it could have been a bit better.
Game play: Average, it plays like any shooter, you see enemies and then you shoot them. You have some guys with you at some levels which does make it a bit more fun but I wish you would have had a couple more team members throughout the game. I think parts of the game like the 1969 parts really sucked though. I didn't like 1994 all that much either. But the robot wars almost made the game worth playing, also the mission where you had to guard yourself from being shot at was pretty lame.
If you see this game and your really dieing for a basic shooter, pick this one up otherwise I cant recommend it unless you like playing a game just for a great story.
