Fuzion Frenzy
Review by Roguesquad6
"Not quite the Mario Party successor"
Fuzion Frenzy is an okay game in its own right, but in no way does it surpass the Mario Party series. Not even close. The title doesn't make any sense either. Anyways, onto the review.
Gameplay: 6/10
The mini games are basically watered down versions of their Mario Party alternatives. Also, some of the mini games are tedious, boring, difficult, and more like a chore to complete. Except you derive no satisfaction whatsoever from beating some of the mini games. None. There are a few good gems hidden deep within the game that will be satisfactory only for some time, but then they lose their replay value as well.
Story: N/A
Story? This game doesn't have a story. Next.
Graphics: 7/10
Something at least done right in this game. The graphics aren't great yet they aren't horrible. You can stomach them at least. The graphics aren't fully optimized and don't use the full capabilities of the Xbox to deliver outstanding visuals.
Sound: 5/10
The sound takes a plunge here. The announcer's voice is annoying and detrimental to the gameplay. The characters voice acting is also equally bad and bring down any value the game might have had. Turn down your volume if you play this, please.
Replayability: 4/10
You can play it with a friend. Also what you get is what you get. No downloadable content. No extra mini-games, bonuses, unlockables, hidden content, or other extras. Nothing would compel you to come back to this game unless a friend was over or if you and a friend play. Fuzion Frenzy would probably remain on the shelf for months and collect dust if you bought it, because once you have played one time, you've probably had enough. For this game to even be remotely fun, you have to have a friend over. Also no Xbox Live available and only up to 4 players (including you) offline, whether it be friends or computer controlled. There's nothing new to provide replayability or challenge once you've done everything. You won't want to waste your time replaying.
Final Recommendation: Rent/Avoid
What you get from Fuzion Frenzy is basically a watered down version of Mario Party plus other major flaws that hinder the game immensely. If you absolutely must play this, play it as a demo on Halo, try it for yourself, see if you like it. Or rent it for a short period of time and play with a friend. However do not make the same mistake I did and purchase. This game is not worthy of a full purchase, even if it's cheap nowadays. Play the demo on Halo (if you have it), rent, or totally avoid altogether. I'd suggest avoiding. You'll be glad you did.
