Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding

"If you like it, you love it"

I went to EB, was looking at Xbox games and decided, either Amped or Air Force Delta Storm....I picked Amped and wow.

Graphics - 9/10
I really thought there would be no snowboarding game with graphics better than SSX, I was wrong. The slow ''behaves'' like snow. The boarders jackets wrinkle!!!! The animation is soooo smooth, yes smoother than Crown Royal. The trees arent a cross, they're circle and they look different. The groomed snow doesnt fling up as much as powder. Microsoft payed really good attention to details. You can basically see all the trail, its really clear, unless its snowy or foggy then all you can see is snow and fog, like real life.

Sound - 10/10
If you like music and sound effects in a game, get this even if you hate snow. The music is worth the 70 bucks alone!!! And the sound effects are amazingly well done. There are other riders on the mountain and they make fun of you if you wipe out. The best part is that you can make your own soundtrack, I have never experienced that in a game I didn't write, amazing. Its NEAT. The sound (again) is worth the money. Ugh and with Dolby 5.1 its gotta be almost as good as sex.

Gameplay - 7/10
This does drag the game down, not much but it does. The tricks are hard thats the only word for it. Going down the mountain is easy but the tricks take about 1 hour to get used to doing. Other than that the gameplay is really good. There are alot of real cool features in it. Like the sponser deely's. Those are tough but you actually get a feeling of reward, which is what games are all about. The multiplayer is fun, thats pretty much where that ends, its fun. You can go anywhere on the mountain, except up. I love that....going off trail into the woods, soo much powder so little time. Another cool feature is the media points. You have to do tricks in front of the camera man and you get fame, the funnest part about it is hitting the cameraman and they curse you.

Overall Comments
If you have an Xbox, 70 bucks and a drive to your nearest gaming store and get Amped. Its gotta be the best snowboarding game out there as on now. Its one of those games that could sell a system and it prooves the total power X box has. Its Amazing, its cool, its DAG!!!

Beefs
The tricks are pretty much the only beef I have with it, and the fact that if you land wrong you get stuck for a little bit going the wrong way up the mountain, there should be a button to correct this because it is annoying, oh and half pipes are extremely tough to get used to at first but once you do you will never leave one.
