Ultimate Fighting Championship: Tapout
Review by Ryan Rider
"A very dissapointing game..."
Gameplay: 4/10
I love the Ultimate Fighting Championship. I watch it all the time on my satellite. I still have the original UFC game which rocks, yet is a bit short. As for this game, I thought it would rock too so I pre-ordered it. Boy, was I wrong! This game makes UFC sound like Ultimate Fighting Crap! The only good thing in this game is the graphics, not the gameplay. The point of the game is to make your opponent tap-out or get KOed. You do that was simply kicking, punching, and knocking down your opponent. Very fun? With three moves, I sure don't think so! You choose between the UFC fighter that you see on TV-Tito Ortiz, Frank Shamrock, Andre Roberts, Jeremy Horns, etc. and fight in the extremely dull Arcade mode. As for the Create-A-Fighter mode, that isn't very great either. There aren't that many things you can do with them. The controls are so easy as there are only three moves. I personally got bored of this game after ten minutes because every fighter is almost the same! Why unlock all those secret characters if there looks are the only big difference?! Big points off here.
Audio/Video: 9/10
Awesome graphics. The graphics in this game are superior to almost any other! The only few games which have better graphics are Halo and WWF Raw. But remember, as my brother likes to say: GRAPHICS DON'T MAKE A GAME, GAMEPLAY DOES! The crapness of the gameplay overrides the greatness of the graphics. As for the music, it's action packed; but I still suggest to press mute.
Replayability: 3/10
There is hardly any replayability in this game. Once you beat it and get all secret fighters, there is absolutely nothing else to do! It's not fun at all to play with another person or just even practice against the CPU! I am a big X-Box Fan, and even I admit that this game is boring and has no replay value. Final!
Overall: 4/10
I suggest not to get this game, and if you do even have a thought of getting it; RENT IT FIRST! Definitely don't make the same mistake as I did by buying the game before trying it. You may regret it! This game gets boring very quickly, so I suggest you get WWF Raw or an older UFC game instead. Please don't e-mail me flaming me, as I will not reply and as it is my opinion that: this game is a flop. End of Review.
