Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions

"Annoying and Frustrating but Pretty"

Okay I just beat Wreckless and I must say, this is THE most annoying game on the Xbox to date. What do I mean? Try reversing and you'll see. Your car will sit idle for about 2 seconds before it even begins is start moving backwards. Even more annoying is when your car flips, you will just sit there for 5 seconds or so watching it wobble till the puter decides to reset you.

And some of the levels are just plain stupid (mainly the half-pipe ones). This ain't no freakin Tonky Hawk or JSRF, cars don't belong there. Another bizzarre thing is the timer during the underground/sewer stages. In certain sections the time goes down to 19 seconds or whatever amount that's allocated to it. Even though you may have had 150 or so when you get there, the moment you cross an invisible marker the timer just drops and you have to get past that section. Why oh why??? This makes no sense at all! I'm talking one stage here, it's not even seperate missions, I'm talking within the same one/continuous mission. So you can rush thru some sections of it and have tons of time but when you reach these ''reduced time sections'' all your efforts are wasted.

In the last mission of A, it's impossible to see anything sometimes. You're a big tank that must protect a bus. But everytime the bus gets hit, big huge yellow letters pop up ''protect the bus'' and blocks the screen. And believe me, they pop up a lot. I mean, they're regular notes that pop up in other missions, but this particular one...your bus gets hit constantly and so the stupid message pops up constantly as well.

And here's the last straw, the tanks near the end of Scenario B. My GOD, if you're anywere near them they shoot you and shoot you and shoot you. You don't even get a chance to move away. I sat in front of my tv for a 2 minutes or so watching my car get shot at over and over till the tank finally couldn't reach it anymore.

The only reason I played it for so long was cuz it cost me $50 freakin bucks. So the bottom line, don't buy this game. Just look at the screenshots in magazines or online somewhere. Replays are nice, but when you're so annoyed after finishing a stage, you just want to rush and finish the whole darn thing. What a piece of crap game! Don't know what all those other commercial game sites were thinking. I've lost all faith in ign and the other folks. Gonna stick strictly to actual regular player reviews like the ones here at wonderful GameFAQs.
