"Strap On Your Seatbelt, It's Going to be a Wild Ride!"

So, this is what has become of the gaming world? Profitable game makers are resulting to games such as this? Well, then strap on your seatbelt, it’s going to be a great year. If only all games were this good.

Project Gotham Racing, is well, racing. Period. No interaction between others, like SSX Tricky, where you must race and have relationship points with other snowboarders. But yet, this game has a dear spot in my heart. Phenomenal is the only word that comes to mind.

Graphics ---10/10--- Listen, when you talk about graphics, Project Gotham Racing is the game for you. Oh sure, there’s always a Final Fantasy X or a Halo out there to compare, but this really is the prime for racing games. Oh sure, Grand Turismo 3 A-Spec is a great buy if you have a Playstation 2. But this really compares, some might even say PGR beats out GT3, in my book they’re tied. If you have an X-Box, buy this game, you don’t want it, you need it.

Controls ---9/10--- I could do better, but believe me, the glass is half full with this one. It’s good, but the higher the kudos gets, the harder it is to drive, it’s very annoying.

Which brings me to another subject: Kudos. Kudos are an evolutionary design where one must drive and lose all proper handling of the car, the longer you have limited control, the higher the kudos. The higher the kudos, the better the prizes. Turning on a corner real sharply, or someone ramming your car is a sure fire way to earn some needed kudos. However, the driving gets very tough in that stage, you’ll have to purposely drive crazy if your going for kudos.

Sound ---10/10--- Very good stuff. I prefer classical for my RPG’s, but these singers are the tops for racing. Features by top-notch bands singing are really the second-best. The only way to get better is to get you a great Dolby Digital 5.1. Do NOT underestimate the performance of this machine. It will blow you away, with realistic sounds like the motor of the engine pushed in to second gear, or putting the pedal to metal, you’ll feel like you’re there. With it, you’ll be the car.

Buy/Rent? Buy. Definitely buy. The sound is fine the graphics are divine. The controls are worth mentioning too! Donning this nifty little disk in your X-Box is a goal worth setting.
