Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee

"Ingenious work of art"

I bought this game when Xbox first launched and didn't have many great games yet. I already owned Halo, Dead or Alive 3, and NFL Fever 2002. With those three excellent games, I didn't expect this one to compare to them and it would become one of my less played games, but it proved me wrong and I am glad I bought it.

Graphics 10/10
You can't get much better than this. The water is excellent, the skin textures on Munch and Abe and other critters are amazing, the backgrounds are eye-popping, I could go on forever. Definatly some of the best graphics on the system to date.

Sound 10/10
EXCELLENT! I love it! The voice acting is so good. Munch and Abe's voices are hilarious and so well done it is incredible. The other mudokon's voices add a really nice charm to the game. Also, the Vykkers voices are also great, its so funny hearing a Scientist, say, ''Hold still Dammit!'' in his high pitched voice. Also, the music comes in at just the right time and it gets your adrenaline flowing.

Controls 9/10
Also very good. Switching between Abe and Munch is just a hit of a button, and Abe's mind controls is also just a touch of a button. The controls almost couldn't get any better. The only flaw I noticed at all, was sometimes, jumping with munch is a little awkward.

Gameplay 9/10
This game is so fun be prepared to shed hours of your life on this game. It ranges from running frantically, to plowing through villans with the Armored Big Bro you possessed, to throwing Labor Eggs into a hole, it is all so fun and strangly addicting. The puzzles make you think and are still fun, this game is great all over. The only flaw once again is that sometimes jumping with munch is weird and can throw you off.

Replay 10/10
Not only are there two different endings depending on how many Mudokons you saved (or killed) but also, this game is just so fun that you will want to play through it again and again and again. It will take up most of your life.

This game is well worth your $50. I bought it thinking it wouldn't be too great, but it proved me wrong. I'm now proud to say I own it and it stands next to Halo on the scale of greatness.
