Star Wars: Obi-Wan

Review by Funk

"This game = Fun"

I don't have this game, nor an Xbox, but let me tell you something, I play this game every time I go to my cousin's house, wanna know why? It is so damn fun! The graphics are great, and the gameplay is great, and the story is somewhat good. And to tell you another fact, I hate the Star Wars series, yet I still love this game

The graphics in this game were above par for any of the systems, the lighting effects were good, the water effects were astounding, and the robots and other characters looked good. There is barely any slowdown, if there is, I must've missed it, but I'm sure there was a little, but I was too impressed by the graphics to notice it. Every thing in this game is detailed, and the detail isn't just stupid, time was put in greatly.

The sound was good, the music was suspenseful when it should be, and the sound effects were great. Everything that should have sound is true to the Star Wars series, the light saber is the same authentic sound when it comes out, the blasters that the robots randomly have are true to the movies.

The gameplay is where the game really shines, the battle system is very unique, as the game makes very good use of the controller's analog sticks. The lower right one swings the light saber in the way you move the analog stick, there are no specified buttons for the direction you want to swing the control stick, that to me is very innovative, fun, and has a lot of depth.

And then a little meter that is called ''The Force'' adds even more depth. When Obi-Wan uses The Force he can do many things, such as jump much higher, knock enemies back and on their ass, pick up items and throw them, and even hurl his light saber(not a smart thing to do in the middle of a bunch of enemies, but it's still fun!) And The Force isn't as easy to get back, as other games. You actually have to find little containers of force, and health.

And the length of the game is somewhat impressive itself, there are a bunch of bonus levels, and there still manage to be well over 15 levels, I'm not sure of the exact number of levels, because I haven't beaten the game yet, but it sure is long, and length + fun = Great Game.

And yes, there is quite a fun multi-player feature. You can actually go into an arena with a friend of your choice, pick a character, (you can unlock more from the bonus levels), and from then you just hack away at each other until someone dies. It's fun, and it builds skill.

Rent or Buy
Buy this, if you can, and if you can't, I suggest you rent it, why? Because I loved this game, and I still hate the Star Wars series.
