Buffy the Vampire Slayer

"A good game with some faults..."

Ok I am a giant fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have been a fan longer than most people and I feel that I have a big grasp on the buffy world. And when I heard this game was coming out I was excited beyond my wildest dreams. And when I received the game I was more then ready to play it. But after I started playing it there were some problems right off the bat that i noticed...

Graphics-9/10: The graphics were excellent. They were better than I thought they would be. The faces of the characters match their real life faces. They did an excellent job and should be rewarded.

Battle System-10/10: The way you fight is great. The way they set it up so you kill certain demons certain ways while you can only kill vamps by Staking/fire/beheading/holy water makes the game fun and yet challenging. But, not too hard. Also, sometimes they will overwhelm you with enemies to kill. That can be ok but other times it is way too hard.

Story-9/10:The story is superior to other game's story lines. I haven't played a game with a good story like this in awhile and I have been playing games for awhile now. Even if you haven't seen the show and are new to BTVS( Buffy the Vampire Slayer) you will really understand everything. They give excellent back stories of everyone and everything.

Saving/Loading-4/10: Ok,this is where the game has problems. The loading is fine, it is the saving that is bad. You don't even save yourself. The game will save after each level and after certain cut-scenes. This is a problem. You might kill 2 mini-bosses and do 1/3 of the level then it saves but if you die at all during that your pretty much screwed. And when you die its usually at a hard part.

Enemies-7/10: The enemies are great in this game. There is a variety of enemies so you are killing the same enemies over and over again. And the way they introduce enemies also really is good. They don't just throw enemies at you there is usually a cut-scene. But, like i said earlier, they can and do overwhelm you with enemies on a regular basis.

So, overall the game is a solid game for fans and non-fans. But, this isn't the perfect game. There are some faults but other than that the game is a game that you should at the least try one time before you judge it.
