Whacked!

"Great fun, offline or online"

The xbox needs party games as any system does. We've got Fuzion Frenzey, which is really good I might add. But we needed something more on the lines of Smash Bros. You know, A simple, beat em' up fin game. Well Whacked! did the job great. Whacked is a party game where you take control of one of 8 characters and enter an arena with 3 others. Then, you duke it out with one of the largest selections of weapons a game has ever seen.

Gameplay - 10

This one is great. You can play in a variety of different game types, including Combat, where you fight for stars. Whoever gets the most, wins. There is also dodgeball, where the only weapon available is, well, you guessed it, dodgeballs. Also there's Fragfest (pretty obvious) King of the hill, where you have to stand on an area the longest. Trophy Run, where you have to hold a trophy for a specific amount of time. The characters are great. Like Lucky the footless rabbits, Otto the lazy idiot who never gets out of his chair (really, even in battle), Toof, the.....well I'm not sure what he is, Lucy the naked girl, covered only by two bars, and more. This game is the best in terms of fun.

Weapons -10

There are 25 regular weapns, 10 Power ups, 8 ''red button'' powers (these occur when someone touches a Red Button, the even it random) The regular weapons include everything from Staplers, Cleavers, Plunger missles, Regular missles, Bee hives, Sticky bombs, Baseball Bats, dodgeballs, Cannons, Shishkabobs, Starmines, Egg shooting guns, and more. The power-ups include armout, invisibility, Feeding frenzey and the Plague!! The Red Buttons do everything from warping the screen, giving everyone missles or bats, turning everything upsidedown, and more. Some levels have special weapons, like the truck where you can get matches and light the can to burn players.

Graphics - 8

They're good. nothing spectacular, but they can't be too tough on the system or there will be slowdown online. But they're not that bad. The framerate stays good even online and the models all look good (if not a bit disturbing)

Sound - 8

It's ok. You usually here the sme song over and over again, but it's not that bad. The characters make all sorts of funny expressions in battle, some of which are a bit vulgar (I like it) Especially Lucky.

Overall/replay

These games are meant for replay. It has tons of it, especially online. And the tons of cinematics and comercials are hillarious. Especially scrapple This is definitely worth getting if you like party games. I liked it better than smash Bros. even.
