James Bond 007: NightFire
Review by jennafaith1
"A perfect simulation of the world´s top agent."
James Bond has been called the man every man would like to be. Here is your chance. This game is amazingly good. In my opinion this should have been a movie and Die another Day should have been locked in a vault never to be seen again. That said, The plotline is perfect for Bond. An incredibly rich man whom everyone thinks is a good guy is actually trying to take over the world with a satelite, stop him. Through this thin as ice plot you will meet gorgeous women, use excellent weaponry, and of course your multitask vehicle.
Graphics 9/10
This game really makes a jump from past bond games. Crystal clear CG screens complimented with equally good in game graphics. Everything looks great and flows nicely. The face animations are well done, and really bring the characters to life. Explosions and character animation is top notch. Nothing was sparred in making this the best Bond game ever.
Music 7/10
Here is a pradox that cannot be avoided. In a Bond game, the James Bond theme is used over and over again with little variation. The music is not impressive and just kind of ''there''. It isn´t bad but it won´t win awards either. The voice actors are great and the soundeffects are also of a ''high caliber''.
Gameplay 8/10
What a difference! While Agent Under Fire was a bit of a thumb twister, this game rivals Halo in control and on screen action. There is no slowdown in one player mode and very little in the head to head. The aiming is user friendly and precise. You can feel the shots hit unlike Agent Under Fire where the shots seem to fly through the enemies. The loading is short and enjoyable with nice pictures and the melting of Cg into gameplay and vice versa is flawless.
Story 2/10 Cinematography 10/10
The plot line is as thin as a thong bikini. However, the story is told through excellent cinematic scenes and is just a lot of fun to watch. This game is just one great scene after another. This probably should have been a movie.
Fun Factor 10/10
This is where you love or hate it. If you love James Bond movies, you WILL love this game. If you hate Bond, then well... just rent it or play it for the multiplayer. The story scenes are great. One liners are typical, and of course you can blow up almost everything.
Overall 9/10
This game probably could have gotten a perfect 10 except for the music. Even if it does have it´s own theme song and there is nothing wrong with the sound. The music simply does not capture you. Other than that minute flaw, this game is a must have for any Bond fan. It is also just a wonderful action game for the superspy in all of us.
