Buffy the Vampire Slayer

"A great game that fits the show perfectly."

I got this videogame knowing it was a sleeper hit, advertised by many Gamefaqs members as a great game ripped apart by low sales. With this in mind I wanted to see what all the fuss was all about.

= =Gameplay= =

The Introduction into the mechanics of the game start out with a simple enough training course in which you shall jump, attack, use weapons and solve some easy-enough puzzles. After this quick part, Buffy-esque settings and cliches pour into the game making fans of the series feel somewhat at home, increasing the fun factor. fighting has been implemented perfectly, there are many combos that Buffy may use to eliminate her foes ranging from basic punch, kick and weapon chains to the more elaborate power moves in which a glow of energy is released and the slayer releases deadly moves in her repertoire.
Movement and menu navigation is fast and simple making use of the Xbox`s button layout and certainly puts this game up a notch.

= =Graphics= =

For the most part Buffys graphics are super especially on the character models, very good this is as you certainly will be seeing alot of them particularly Buffy but good news is the vampires and other enemies look just as great. There are though flaws within this catergory and not all are that bad but I shall name a few, first off some of the basic levels are not looking that brilliantly moddled not that I mean all the level just parts of it such as the little things like trees, railings and locked doors, this is a shame that the developers did not use all the features availible to them. The other thing criticisable is Willow and Cordelia dont look so much like there real-life counterpart, other than that its all fine.

= =Sound= =

The sound is superb nothing more or less. This is apparent in all aspects of the game from the soundtrack and general background noises expanding to the actors giving voice overs for everyone exept Sarah Michelle Gellar, no need to worry though as the women portraying Buffys voice on the whole gave it a good performance. The score for Buffy in my books can be raised highly in my books due to sound not that it needed this catergory for a high mark.

= =Overall= =

Buffy the vampire slayer is a great purchase for lovers and in some cases haters, while fans of the successful series will get the better end of the stick that I can assure you, you do not need to know Giles, Willow or Xander to enjoy there quick jokey scripts that so many enjoy, buy this game and you get a action packed game that makes you think and certainly has it`s charm.
