Crimson Sea
Review by i beet meat
"Yummy game with luscious Live-D"
Crimson Sea is a game in the vein of Dynasty Warriors, putting hundreds of enemies against you at a time, it seems daunting at first, but is well worth the try.
Gameplay
This game starts out slow rarely putting five enemies against you at a time, but it picks up shortly. What genre is this game you ask? It has elements of RPG's, shooter, and action games. You have 3 type of weapon, guns (used by pressing ''X''), swords, (press ''Y'') and Neo-Psionics, (hit ''White'') all at once. One of the main selling points of this game is the sheer number of enemies thrown at you. This action will keep you on the edge of your seat most of the time, but at other points, it can put you to sleep. Luckily, the gameplay is surprisingly, and thankfully varied. The control seems strange at first, but after an hour, it seems natural, and almost second nature. Right now, it seems like a nearly flawless game, but there is that pesky camera. As with many many third-person games, the camera can be difficult, but not as bad as most. Overall good 8/10.
Story
Crimson Sea's story doesn't offer too many new elements. Basically, you are Sho, a mercenary with a good heart, and you and your faithful sidekick, Yanquin, are hired to join a group that tries to protect the galaxy from the evil mutons, which are evil aliens that seem to be unstoppable. along the way their are several plot twists, but most are very predictable. This is one of those games that don't rely on a story, to me it was just an excuse to bash some aliens. Overall acceptable 8/10
Graphics and Sound
Stunning, simply great. you would think that hundreds of enemies would make them designers have to scale down the graphics, but in 10 hours of gameplay, i have only noticed short moments of slowdown, but that is only when all of my teammates were firing, and i was initiating a special attack and with 300+ enemies in front of me. The sound is good too, it has a fitting soundtrack, good sound effects, but cheesy voice acting. Overall very good 10/10.
Replayability
Again very good, there are several special weapons and items that you can receive by getting an ''S'' grade on certain levels. Also there are unlockable difficulty modes, that again have items that you can't find again. There are ''training missions'' that are mini games, which are very addictive, and reward you with money if you do well in them. Overall very good 10/10
Crimson Sea is a deep action game that didn't get the press or hype it deserved, but is worth a buy if you see it.
Final score 8/10 (not an average)
