Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO

"Finally, Online fighting has come to America!!!"

This game is quite possibly the best 2d fighting game ever. although it does have flaws. The character sprites are too large and there are some sound issues. If you are a big-time fan of true 2d fighting games then please, read on.

Graphics 8/10
Although i love the anime-like look, the sprites are just too large. They aren't terrible but still, u could probably count the number of pixels put into each character. The stages look pretty cool however. I love the way the stages are 2d with 3d objects moving around.

Sound 7/70
The sound effects are great but the music needs working on. The grid stage is cool because you can hear music from past capcom and snk games and the music to the london stage is kinda groovy. Some of the music however lacks the action feeling that is needed for a solid fighter. There are also issues with finnishing a match with a super move. Whenever a match is finnished by somebody using a super move, the music will mysteriously stop and for the rest of the fights, the music will continue to be absent.

Gameplay 9/10
This is a Great game. If you have ever liked 2d fighting games like street fighter or fatal fury, you will love this. It has characters tons of characters from each Capcom and SNK series of fighting games. If you have Xbox live, then the experience is twice as great. There is just something special about playing other people from around the world instead of the computer.

Re-Play 10/10
This is where the game truly shines. it is pure fun that doesnt get old. You can play for hours before it gets boring, but you will want to come back 10 minutes after you stop playing.

Overall 9/10
This is definately the best 2d fighting game around right now. The graphics aren't as good as the Sega Dreamcast version, but who cares? They really aren't bad. You will grow acustomed to the music issue as well. This game is near perfect but it definately has some room for improvement.

Buy vs. Rent? I say if you like 2d fighters and have Xbox Live, then this is definately an must-have game. If you dont have xbox live or you're not to familiar with 2s fighters, i would say that you should rent it first to see how you like it.
