Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance

"One of my favorite games of all time!"

INTRODUCTION
I have Sons of Liberty on the Playstation 2. I played it for like a straight month. I always tried to find something different. But face it, there was nothing left to do. So I threw it aside like it was nothing. Then I got my XBox, and I knew Substance was out on it. I was in a trance, ''I must get. . .I must get.'' And then I went and bought it. I was like, FINALLY! I get some other crap to do. And guess what?!?!!? I got more crap to do!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!! Anyhow, let's start the review.

GRAPHICS
Dear Lord, these are some of the sweetest graphics ever in a game. Everything looks great, I mean, on the PS2, Sons of Liberty was awesome with graphics! And now it's on the X-Box. And it looks even better! Everything looks great here and that's all there is to it. So I'm going to give the graphics a perfect score! 10/10

SOUND
The sound is great as well. You can hear everything perfectly and it sounds realistic. That's about it here. I'm going to give the sound a perfect score! 10/10

CONTROLS
Okay, this is where the game is bad. I can't praise this game all the way through. Because the controls are just BAD! This is something I would be afraid of in this game. For me, the first person mode was a definite need on the original game. On here, you have to press the joystick in. And sometimes, it just won't do that. Looking around corners is such a pain sometimes. This is just horrible in the VR missions. It's so easy to be caught it's pathetic. Sometimes when you shoot, it won't register for some reason. The controls do not have ANYTHING going for them. The controls just suck, folks. That's all there is to it. The controls get nothing! 0 out of 10. 0/10
WHY? The controls are just flat right out horrible.

STORY
Oh my, people went on about how horrible the story was. I must say, WHAT?!?! The story is amazing. I don't really want to give it away. I'm sure you know that Raiden is one of the characters, so that's not a spoiler. I'm sure you've heard about the story so I'm not going to go into that. If you don't want to use Raiden though, you can use Snake. So for the hardcore Raiden haters, you're saved. But anyway, I just love the story and I don't see why people hated it. Some say it's hard to follow, so pay attention. Anyway, I'm going to give the story a perfect score! 10/10

GAMEPLAY
The gameplay. . .oh my the gameplay. There is too much to do in this game. You got well over 350 VR Missions, you got the game itself, Snake Tales, you can unlock other people to play as in the VR missions, and a few other things. Sons of Liberty on the PS2 was short but still so cool. But now you won't have to worry about a short game. This game will keep you busy for such a long time. The game just runs so great. And the story will keep you in tact. You'll also just want to play back through the game as well. The game itself that is. And one cool thing, with the VR missions, you can play them and if you lose or win, you could let a friend play it so they won't be bored out of their mind. Just switch back and forth. But anyway, everything here is just amazing. Except for the horrible controls, but everything else in this game outshadows that completely. I'm going to give the gameplay a perfect score! 10/10

FUN FACTOR
Oh my gosh. Of course this game is mad fun. Doing the VR missions are really fun and cool and the game itself is fun.
The only thing is, the controls sometimes makes the fun of the game frustrating. That will hurt the score a tad. But not much. So I'm going to give the fun factor a 9 out of 10. 9/10
WHY?: The controls

REPLAY VALUE
This game will keep you busy for such a long time it's not even funny. You got: the VR missions, the game itself, all the side things to do, the dog tags to collect, replaying the game, and so forth. Never has a game had this much to offer. The replay value gets an easy perfect score. 10/10

RENT or BUY?
Buy this game now! This game is just amazing. Despite the controls, if it wasn't for the controls, this game would had got a perfect score no doubt. But other than that, the story is amazing, the game is fun, there is a lot to do, and many other things. WANT MORE COULD YOU WANT IN A GAME?!!? This IS one of my favorite games of all time. GO BUY THIS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
