X2: Wolverine's Revenge
Review by Wulverene
"A Great Game, But Not Without It's Flaws."
Presentation: The gameplay is top notch and it definitely shows why Wolverine is the most popular of the X-Men. It has an intriguing story that can and will get you involved in the game and it fits perfectly in the X-Men universe and surely shouldn’t disappoint anyone.
10/10
Gameplay: The gameplay is one of the funnest factors in the game. I've heard plenty of people talk about how hard this game is. I for one haven't found it to be that difficult, but I'm just one person and everybody has different levels of skill. The puzzles are fairly simple and the combat is a very fun part. The strike moves offer a lot of fun and there are plenty of them to use all being fairly unique. Stealth is a big part of the game in which you must learn to harness the ability to be unseen if you hope to see the end and save the life of Wolverine. 10/10
Sound: The soundtrack can be repetitive at times, but with the X-Box you have the ability to play your own custom soundtracks so it is definitely not a problem. The sound of Wolverine going berserk is amazing and really shows how much of a beast Logan can be. The voice acting is top notch. Mark Hamill shows why he is one of the best voice actors of his time and Patrick Stewart is amazing as always. The other voices fit well with each individual character, especially Sabretooth, who sounds just as good as his Fox’s animated series counter-part. 10/10
Graphics: The graphics are good, but not outstanding. It seems like they could have done a little better, but it does not draw away from the fun factor of the game. 7/10
Known Bugs/Issues: The one part that keeps me from giving this game a 10. Every game has its share of flaws, and there are a couple of items that can get annoying. A big problem with the game is that there are times in which you get stuck hugging and sneaking on thin air, which is hard to get out of at times. The controls can be unresponsive at times but it’s not much to get one totally into a berserker rage.
Final Thoughts/Overview: Once in a while a game developer gets the job done right and Wolverine's Revenge is a perfect example. It perfectly combines stealth and combat into one nifty package that is fun if you know what you are doing. It can be frustrating at times for some people if you are not patient. Just remember that you need to be careful in order to succeed. The extra content you can unlock is a big treat for the fans, with costumes and profiles on your favorite that can be found within secret areas of the game. So if you are a fan of Wolverine or X-Men you should definitely think about picking this game up, or at least renting it to try it out. You will not be disappointed. 9/10
