"Wanna ride?! Ride of your liffffeee?? Waaaaaaannnaa riiddee?"
INTRODUCTION
I got this game free with my X-Box. And I wasn't all that sure about it. I had it in the layway, and I thought, ''Hmm, I think I'll see what GameSpot.com gave it.'' So I went there, and they had gave it a 9.1! So immediately, I was excited about it! And when I got my X-Box and put this game in. I was NOT disappointed. So let's get onto the review!
MUSIC
Oh yeah! You can put your own music in this game, of course. And it's just grand! They have some music of their own in the game. I think it's by underground bands or something because I had never heard of them. I didn't listen to the songs. I just took those songs off the playlist and added my own to it. It's really cool, because you can put as many songs as you want on there. I've got at least over a 100. So I guess you can put as many as you want. With this awesome feature, I'm going to give the music a perfect score! 10/10
SOUND
The sound is great. The sound effects of the engines doesn't get as loud as the music. So that's a definite plus. But you can still hear the engines real well and everything is just all good. So I'm going to give the sound a perfect score! 10/10
GRAPHICS
The graphics are just amazing. You can definitely tell that the graphics are at their best whenever you go to a ice track. Because the snow or ice is laying on the road and you're going around there and you can see the sun shining onto the track, which I found really great and a cool feature. Also, snow is on your car, or ice. So I found that really awesome. Also, there's damage in the game. The glass on your car breaks. The only bad thing is, the damage isn't all that great. I've flipped and flipped like crazy, but the damage wasn't like it SHOULD be. Which I found kind of disappointing. But other than that, the graphics are just amazing and I love it. So I'm going to give the graphics a 9 out of 10. 9/10
REASON: The damage is great, but not detailed like it should be
CONTROLS
The controls are for the most part, good. The car isn't impossible to steer or anything, which is a definite plus. Mostly everything is great. But their is ONE problem. You drive the car with the L and R triggers. And it seems to be promising at first. But then eventually, your fingers start to get wore out and it really sucks. But other than that, I like the controls and like I said, the car isn't impossible to steer. So I'm going to give the controls a 9 out of 10. 9/10
REASON: The L and R triggers get tiring
CAREER MODE
I'll put in what happens with the career mode here: ''You'll start in the pro circuit with a limited selection of cars. From there, you'll have to race to prove yourself and unlock new cars and tougher events. Each event consists of several stages, but you don't need to win every stage to win an event. Every time you finish a stage, you earn points. You can also earn points through achieving a high top speed, excellent lap time, and avoiding car damage. After each event, your points are added to your overall total, bring you closer to qualifying for a new event class and unlocking new cars. As you progress through the different race classes - pro, expert, classic, and unlimited - you'll unlock groups of cars that will help you stay competitive. Consistently superior racers will be rewarded with special bonus cars.'' Well I think the career mode is great. Not all that bad hard or anything. A whole lot to do, so it's all good. So I'm going to give the career mode a perfect score! 10/10
GAMEPLAY, FUN FACTOR, REPLAY VALUE
Ah, the filling of any game. The gameplay is really good here. You of course got the career mode to do. Which I've already described and said was great. Then you got the single race mode. I'll put in a description: ''Single Race Mode lets you compete simultaneously against three computer-controlled opponents on any unlocked track.'' Of course you got that in the game (lol). Although, if you win, it doesn't add those points to your career mode. Then you got Time Attack Mode. Here's a description of that: ''Time Attack mode allows you to race, undistracted, on the unlocked track of your choice. Your co-driver will still be there to give you navigational cues (Rally and Hill Climb Races only), but no other racers will be present and you won't gain any points to use for unlocking new cars and events.'' Pretty cool, but this is always basically in any racing game. When you're driving around, you'll be racing a ghost of your best lap. And finally, you got Multiplayer Mode. Of course, that's just where you race with your friends. There's this option in the multiplayer mode of ''Time Elimination''. If a driver is left behind by 30 seconds, they'll be dropped out. Pretty cool, eh? So there's a lot to do in this game and unlock. This game is very fun, and not all that bad challenging. My only problem with it is that the L and R triggers hurt my fingers after playing for a while. So the game is very fun, but then the L and R triggers hurt my fingers, so the fun factor will get a 9 out of 10. The gameplay has a lot going for it, so it gets a perfect score. And the replay value is VERY high and great, so it'll get a perfect score as well!
---FUN FACTOR: 9/10 (REASON: The L and R triggers wear my fingers out)
---GAMEPLAY: 10/10
---REPLAY VALUE: 10/10

CLOSING THOUGHTS
Well this game is a platinum hit. So if you done have an X-Box, go pick this game up immediately if you don't have it. Even if you're not a racing fan. If you enjoyed Gran Turismo 3, buy this. It's better than Gran Turismo 3, actually. If you don't have an X-Box, there's a high chance that you will get this if you decide to buy an X-Box. So I highly recommend buying this. Gamespot didn't say, ''No X-Box owner should be caught without this game'' for nothing. Go race out your door and buy this game, NOW!
