"WSB 2K3"

Intro

Today, were going to be reviewing World Series Baseball 2K3. One of the most realistic Baseball games on the market to date (In my opinion). We will be going thru everything from Graphics to Sound to Gameplay. So let's get started.

Sound --- 6.7/10

Sound is a intricate part of gameplay. Sound and Announcing are probably the most overlooked parts of a game, because so many games don't have the best Sound, and many things repeat over and over. It can make the game repetitive and boring, which can result in you not wanting to play the game. Now, I won't say that the Announcing and/or Sound in this game is the best, but it's not the worst. Many things will repeat over and over, but they won't be in close intervals which can make Gameplay OK, but not great.

Graphics --- 7.4/10

Now, the Graphics are a little better than the Sound, but not much. The Players look nothing like their real life counterparts. Another thing about the player models, all the players look the same. They don't change with what the weight is set at, they are all the same! Which is another minus. This is unacceptable due to the fact that this game is on the Xbox, one of the best Graphics consoles on the market. The some of the swings in this game look nothing at all like there real life counterparts. That is also unacceptable due to the Xbox capability, I mean how can you have a console with the power of the Xbox and not take the time and sense to make a game that looks good? Looks is 1/3 of the Game! However, the pitching motions look pretty good. Kevin Brown, Roger Clemens, Tim Hudson all have there windups in the game, and they look exactly like there windups in real life. But there is one little grudge that I have. There is no windup for the most recent Cy Young award winner! Barry Zito! How can you not have his windup?

Gameplay --- 8.3/10

The Gameplay is very easy to catch on to, and is easy to play as well. There is options for almost everything, for the Rookies, to the Pros, to the All-Stars. You can play as any current MLB team there is also a team of MLB Legends which you can play as. The Gameplay during games can be very realistic in which way you set the Gameplay Sliders, these Gameplay Sliders are also a new addition over last year. Last year the game was too easy for some, and yet too hard for the others. Now these people can set the game at there own difficulty, if your good at pitching, and bad at hitting turn up the Computers batting skill and turn down the Computers batting skill and vice versa. Another big thing this year is the ESPN theme, in which the ESPN theme song plays at the start of the game (Very catchy tune). Also, all the menus are redone and it is very easy to access everything.

Replay Ability --- 7.3

This game has OK Replay Value, you can play with friends in Quick Match. Run a Franchise by yourself, or play a Home Run Derby with your friends or against the computer.

Final Recommendation

I'd recommend this game to Baseball fans, but not anyone else. Since this is a game for Baseball fans, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except for Baseball
