Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO
Review by luburulz
"It's alright...could be way better though."
Well, this was suppose to be a great game for XBOX Live. And I'm not saying it isn't, don't get me wrong. I just find XBOX Live near unplayable at times. And also due to the EO, people can just move the analog stick and do a combo move or a blast (Hadoken for example). Also, you get to use the great SNK characters (Iori, Kyo, etc) and Street Fighter characters (Ryu, Ken, Akuma, etc). So now, onto the main part of the review.
Gameplay- 9/10
I like fighting games. I have always enjoyed them. You have two characters to unlock in Shin Akuma and God Rugal. Both are annoying to face, but worth getting. But basically...they're just super powered up versions of their normal counterparts. Also on XBOX Live, if you can get a game that won't lag, it adds a bunch of new experience and fun to the game.
Graphics- 8/10
What'd you expect? 3D characters in all their glory? Wrong. You get 2D which is great for the old school gamers. Plus, it's nice to kind of revisit the old memories of Street Fighter and King of Fighters. I also like the fact that they did not really change a lot. They didn't butcher the Street Fighter name like some companies would. Of course though, this is Capcom, so they probably wouldn't butcher their own series. Woo onto the next part finally.
Musics/Sounds- 10/10
There really isn't music in the game...but the sounds are good! Like when you shoot out a hadoken, you get a little ''wooosh'' sound thingy. And the characters sort of yell the name of the move. Like if you do a Shinkuu Hadoken, Ryu will stand back and charge, then yell ''Shinkuu...HADOKEN!'' and shoot it. Yes, exciting, I know.
Final Rating- 8/10
Yeah I know. It doesn't average out right, but still. The things they could have done is had more characters to unlock. But with 40 something characters to play as...you will not get bored too quickly. You also have the grooves to learn, which I didn't mention, since that's probably one of the main things mentioned already in most other reviews. Between all the characters and grooves, it is a solid 8.
Rent or Buy-
Though I bought it, I'd have to suggest a rent. Don't get me wrong, the game is awesome. It is just...most would just go and expect something totally different. And for those who don't have XBOX Live, it will not really be too great of an investment.
