Midtown Madness 3
Review by devilsminion
"A Crazy Taxi, slowed to a crawl!!"
Mid Town Madness has made it's debut on the XBox and the popular PC game was transformed into a poor console choice.
The Game:
If you ever played the crazy fun game called Crazy Taxi you would get the somewhat drift of this game. The single player missions pits you against an opposition to complete certain feats which basically means check points, You start off trying to beat your opposotion by delivering a pizza first. This would be fun and interesting if there was any sense of speed whatsoever in the game. You are like a turtle placed in a race the sights are great but whats the point.
The Graphics:
Well here's another comparison remember Wreckless that beautiful game that looked so sweet but was just pathetic to play where here's it's match. The game looks great in there lies the problem. In Midnight Club II they stream lined the graphics used as little as possible in order to lock the frame rate at 60 fps. Yes this game isn't MC2 but it still is a racer at heart. So if your going to make a race game make it see like your racing.
The Sound:
Taken from the pages of slap stick comedy where people laughed at funny fake accents many years ago they tried to bring it back. The accents are not funny but are hard to make yourself listen to. The cars are sound ok and hearing a passenger scream gives a little kick but don't be expecting anything special here.
The Game Play:
I will say this I have not played this game on Live I was so let down by the single player I wouldn't even bother. The over all lack of any speed just gives me no sense of enjoyment I can't see playing with live players add anything here. So I will pass.
The only real enjoyment I got from this game was the little video of the guy doing the stunt role for the pedestrian.
Over All:
I would definitely rent this game before buying it in fact I would suggest not even renting it. Mid Town Madness could have been a great game if they would have concentrated on the game play rather than how good it looks.
