Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Review by KoRn4Eva
"Oddworld still goin' strong"
Oddworld:Munch's Oddysee is an Action/Puzzle game where you take the role as both Abe and Munch. One of the great things about this installment is that you didn't have to play the previous ones to understand what is going on.I played all of the Oddworld games up to this one and this one is my favorite thus far, lets look at it a little deeper now shall we...
Gameplay-10/10
All of the previous Oddworld games were great, why would this one be any differant?Well a lot of things have changed since the series went into full 3D, such as how some puzzles are completed, and how your supposed to save your Mudoken friends.Gamespeak is here and as cool as ever.Possessing is back and plays an even bigger role then it did in the previous Oddworld games.I really like some of the new things you can do in this such as using a crane to pick up bombs and drop them onto unsuspecting Sligs below.
Sound-8/10
The Sound effects in this game are good, but nothing to get excited over. There really isn't any music in this except for when you get into a fight but that gets annoying fast. There is some good music though in the FMVs but that's about all.
Control-10/10
Oddworld finally decided to add an ''action'' button instead of a button command for every action.(like in previous Oddworld games)You basically only use two buttons:The analog stick and the A button. So there really easy to get used to.But since the buttons are pressure sensitive your gonna have to learn when to tap and hold the buttons.
Story-10/10
The story starts out telling you about how Munch is the last of his kind due to poechers.Abe and Munch meet later on to try and recover the last can of Gabbiar that could possibly save Munch's race from extinction. It will make more sense once you get to play it for yourself.
Graphics-9/10
Graphics in this game are superb.Just one look at the opening FMV and you'll know what I mean. The developers in this really paid a lot of attention to detail.Character models look great and water affects are awesome. But some of the level detail looks kinda bland.
Overall-10/10
This game is great.I can recommend it too anyone who likes Puzzle games or if you have(and liked) the previous Oddworld games then this is for you. This game looks and sounds great, i'd say if you have an Xbox you need to have this.I give Oddworld:Munch's Oddysee a 10/10
