Star Wars: Obi-Wan
Review by BAdB0i87
"The Force is Weak"
I like the Star Wars series. But I'm not a fanatic. I only watch the movies. I don't buy every single game, toy, lunchbox or underwear that has the Star Wars logo. I've probably only enjoyed like two Star Wars game ever. And I've only played two. They were in the Rouge Squadron series.
Gameplay: 7/10
I'm going to start off this part of section with a negative comment. The camera absolutely sucks. The camera is too loose and you can only see what Obi-Wan sees. The camera also seems to glitch and gets hung up on objects. Since the camera can't be positioned to see Obi-Wans frontal area, it's easy for enemies to sneak behind you and get in a couple of hits.
Now with a positive. The battle system is pretty good. Since you play a young Jedi, you obviously wield a lightsaber. You're able to swing the lightsaber at your enemies in certain directions. You're also able to block and deflect blast particles.
The Force is also pretty important if you're a Jedi. What is the Force? If you don't know what it is, go watch the movies! With just a press of a couple buttons, Obi-Wan is able to push, pull, and kick ass!
On with the modes...
First you have the Story mode or something like that. You just run around killing bad guys and completing missions that are given to you. You also get to battle a fellow Jedi knight in a sparring battle every once and a while.
Training mode is pretty self explanatory. If you're too stupid to understand what training is, it's just a mode where the game teaches you the controls and buttons.
And then, there is Jedi Battle. The funnest mode in the game. Fight your friend one on one in a Jedi battle. It's not actually that fun, but then again it is the funnest mode.
Graphics: 4/10
The graphics in this game are an absolute disgrace to the whole entire Xbox system. The graphics in Obi-Wan could be compared to the Dreamcast and possibly lose!
The character models are low-polyed. Yoda looked like a piece of turd! That's the only way I can describe it. Low-res textures and everything else. The animations are decent, but still quite horrific.
Sound: 6/10
It's a Star Wars game, so of course it's going to have the original score and some pretty good music.
The sound effects are pretty good, but just your basic stuff. The lightsaber and it's weird sound. The blaster guns and so on.
The voice acting is alright, I hate the way Obi-Wan sounds though! It's quite annoying!
Control: 7/10
Controls were very confusing at first, but you can get use to it. And when I say get use to it, it'll probably take you about two days which is way too long. But the controls are done very well though. The right analog controls the lightsaber and the left controls Obi-Wan. The left trigger is for the Force and holding it while pressing a normal button will have him perform a Force move.
Replay: 2/10
No replay value at all. You will not find me playing this game again. Even the two player Jedi Battle won't bring me back!! Not even if I get to play against Anna Kournikova with her sitting besides me!! Ok, that's pushing it.
Overall Average: 5/10
My friend told me it was good, and I believed him. I should have known better since he thinks every game is great. Worth a rent?? Absolutely. Buy?? Not a chance!!
