Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4
Review by ShrinaSoldier231
"I like this version of the game."
INTRODUCTION
Okay, I owned the PS2 version of the game. And I reviewed it too. Everyone probably wanted to hang me and beat me with a stick because I gave it a 6 out of 10. I just didn't like that version of the game. But, I figured I'd give the X-box version a shot, mostly because of the custom soundtrack feature. And because usually, the X-box gets the better versions of the games. Well, I re-bought it for the X-Box, for $20. I took it home and actually enjoyed it. So, let's break this down.
SOUND (10/10)
Without a doubt, the sound is great. You can hear everything real well, when you fall, you can hear the skater say something. So, since the sound is great, there's no need to go any further. So, I'm going to give the sound a perfect score!
MUSIC (9/10)
The music is nothing great at all! It's really terrible, the only two songs on here that are good are AC/DC's ''TNT'' and System Of A Down's ''Shimmy''. It's definitely not like Tony Hawk 3's music was. Too much non-talented punk rock groups and just terrible rap music clutters this music soundtrack. But, ah, low and behold, the X-Box has the custom soundtrack feature. And it really, really makes the game much more enjoyable. So instead of playing the game to rap or something, I can play Metallica and groups like that. Seriously, people, you might think I'm crazy or something, but music really makes the game better. So, I'm going to give the music a 9 out of 10.
GRAPHICS (10/10)
The graphics in this game are pretty good. The level designs are great, and some of the skaters are well made, and some of the citizens are well made. Even the women skaters look like women. The PS2 version, they looked like men. At least they did to me. Call me crazy. So what am I trying to say here? Well, the X-Box version definitely got the better graphics. So, I'm going to give the graphics a perfect score.
CONTROLS (10/10)
The controls on this game is really good. It's basically identical to the PS2 version. Although, I find the controller better suiting with the X-Box S controller. I don't know how good it is with the fat controller. Anyway, the controls respond very well. And it's just comfortable. The A button is where you crouch and go faster. The X, B, and Y buttons are the trick buttons. Just like any other version of the game. So, I'm going to give the controls a perfect score.
GAMEPLAY (10/10)
Without a doubt, the gameplay is high in this game. You have a lot of multiplayer modes to choose from, the Create a Skater, the season mode, the Create a Park. So, you're really tooken care of. But, the Create A Skater is pretty good, it's not the best thing. You can make your skater how you want him/her, pretty much. But there's not many faces to choose from, still. With clothes, pants, etc, it's good. The Create A Park is good. You can make it quite large, but once you do that, you really can't put a lot in it. TH3 (which was my favorite TH game), it felt like you could put SO much in it. This one, I don't feel that. Now, with the season mode. Well, the no timer when you just want to skate is a great feature. Because a lot of times, you just want to goof off. And I do that quite a lot in these kind of games. Some of the goals are hard, but some are easy. But you have 190 goals to unlock. So, you're going to be playing this game for a while. Some of the things you have to unlock? You have cheat codes to unlock, videos, decks, and clothes. And the videos are actually worth unlocking, they're pretty good and funny. And just beating the season mode. The multiplayer is pretty good in the game, as well. It's fun and there's a lot of multiplayer options, such as: Trick Attack, Score Challenge, Combo Mambo, Slap!, King of the Hill, Graffiti, Goal Attack (System Link play only), Capture the Flag (System Link play only), Horse, and Free Skate. You have the system link play too. You can play up to eight people. They've added in some new modes with the multiplayer too. I enjoyed the X-Box version of this game so much more. So I'm going to give the gameplay a perfect score.
REPLAY VALUE (10/10)
Well, as I said, there's A LOT of stuff to unlock. So, that's a good thing. Cause like I said earlier, the unlockables are actually worth unlocking. And then the multiplayer is great. And just playing the season mode is good. I'm going to give the replay value a perfect score.
FUN FACTOR (10/10)
Well, if you're going to just skate, it's fun. But, if you're going to do the season mode, it's hard or easy. The multiplayer is fun. That's about all here. I'm going to give the fun factor a perfect score.

THE FINAL CONCLUSION
Well, I really enjoyed this version of the game more than I did the PS2 version, like I've said. The game feels complete here, unlike the PS2 version. Not saying the PS2 was completely horrible, I just enjoyed the X-Box version more. Now, buy this game. It's cheaper now and should hold you over until Tony Hawk Underground comes out. And the multiplayer is great. So, that's all.
