Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Review by RPGs R Awesome
"A Harry Potter Game That Leaves You Amazed!"
I love the Harry Potter books because of the surprises in each or every few chapters. I also have never played Harry Potter Video Games before. I knew when Chamber of Secrets came out that I would have to rent it. So, it came out and I rented it for a week! Boy, that was a mistake. This is one of the easiest games I have ever played(except for the sneaking past the prefects parts, those were difficult)!
I flew through the game but, for younger kids, this is a hard game most of the time. I beat the Basilisk my second time of trying and he's the final boss! I thought that that battle would be quite difficult. Oh well, no point in complaining. There's a review to write!
Graphics-10
I will say this now. Some parts are good and some are bad.
This is for sure on of the best parts of this game. The graphics colorful and detailed and cartoony and gorgeous all-around. There should be a celebration congratulating EA Games for the graphics I never expected for this game. Thanks for the great job!!
Music/Sound-9
Great, catchy, upbeat music that you'll want to listen everytime you play. This is a game that a soundtrack is a good idea because the music is original along with the Harry Potter Theme from the movies. Now you're wondering why I gave it a 9 if I liked it so much? Well, that's because it becomes a tad repetitive after you're in the same area for a while. But, otherwise this is top-notch.
Gameplay-8
The game is overall fun but, is over quickly. It's also likely that you won't start to many new games(maybe 2?).
The reason my score was put up higher was because of the Quiditch(sorry if I spelled it wrong), the minigames(Broom Racing, Gnome Throwing, etc.) and the Witch and Wizards cards(I still had about 15 to collect by the time I had to take it back). These make up for the class' which you can't even go back into!
Plot-10
Harry is a wizard who's parents were killed by the evil Voldemort when he was just an infant and was taken care of by his mean aunt and uncle, The Dursleys, ever since. Harry had a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead and that's what he got when Voldemort tried to kill him but, couldn't. Anyways, owls send letters about going to Hogwarts but, Uncle Vernon keeps ripping them up and finally Hagrid the Groundskeeper brings a letter right to Harry on his birthday! Harry goes off to Hogwarts and meets 2 friends named Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They learn big secrets(which I won't say) and come home with some scrapes and bruises. Now this is were this game picks up. Great Plot and I love the Harry Potter plot so much that it gets a 10! J.K. Rowling did an excellent job with this.
Replayability-7
Talked about it abit in the Gameplay section.
Controls-9
Great Controls that use about every button the 1 point was taken off because I keep on having problems figuring out the Z button(I thought they meant A button at first but, that was resolved. Great job and keep up the good work!
The Final Word-Buy
Buy if you like Harry Potter or Platformers. Others would be better renting for only a few days and then possibly buying. It's well worth trying this gem of a game out at least once!
