"Bash, Bash, Bash, Repeat"

Gameplay: 5/10
This game starts off interesting, relatively bright colors, giant monsters, and lots of destruction. However then the intro movie ends and you get to play. The first thing you'll notice is that there isn't really any complex moves to do. Grab, punch, kick, tail slap, and laser moves are all that are used. There is a distict lacking of any combination moves and most of the battle is just knocking down your opponent and waiting for them to get up to knock them down again.

Graphics: 9/10
Pretty good graphics, the cities look pretty much like the cities you are destroying. The monsters also seem unflawed and pretty well created.

Sounds: 7/10
The monsters themselves sound pretty good and sound as if they were pulled right out of the movies. The cities being destroyed and beated tend to lack anything more than a bang/boom and the army people get kinda annoying after awhile with their 1 saying.

Controls: 9/10
The game has a very simple control scheme. One button tends to do one thing. The only time you need more than the directional pad and a punch button is to use your rage attack A+B.

Multiplayer: 2/10
The main reason I looked into this game was for some good multiplayer action. However, there were a few problems with this. First of all without using codes and without playing through the adventure mode you get to use a whole 4 monsters not to mention very few locals can be visted either. Second there isn't a lot of varity in the types of multiplayer. They give several different options, but you really just end up beating the crap out of eachother in any of them so it doesn't matter which one you pick.

Replay Value: 2/10
If you enjoy having to unlock an entire game, this one is for you. Except for one of the Godzilla's all of the good one's are locked. You can use a code of course to unlock all of them, but then there is absolutly no replay value.

Buy or Rent: Rent
If you need to burn 20 minutes then this game is for you. You can go through and beat the game then go outside and play.

Overall: 4/10
As a fighting game this game is pretty much lacking. With lack of a story, lack of any different types of multiplayer and with lack of variety of monsters (4 Godzillas and 2 King Hedorhah's) There isn't a lot of reason to get this. In all honesty you'd probably have more fun playing King of the Monsters for the SNES.
