Tetris Worlds
Review by AllYourBaseBelong2Us
"No plot can ever revolve around a Tetris game."
So how about it? You wish to hear the plot? Okay, here goes. In order to save their planet from global warning and total destruction, the tetris blocks join forces to solve as many puzzles as humanly possible - That way, they'd save a planet! Wow! Amazing! I don't believe it. Maybe it'll be mankind's answer to when an asteroid decides to hit the planet Earth, and we'll be waiting for it! I really don't know what went wrong with Radical thinking they could simply slap a story line onto a Tetris game, but I guess its a different kind of story line on its own still entertaining to youngsters. Basically what happens in Story mode is that you move through different worlds, each world adding to the challenge of the game. There are six different worlds total. In Arcade mode, its almost the same thing but with a time limit and more blocks to take away in each rows to complete the entire round. Also, what's really amazing is that you can customize a Tetris block. You can have it the color you want, the face you want, with the hat you want. And it'll be there in story mode making goofy faces like the World assistant.
I've actually found that Multiplayer was really fun playing this with my Dad who accidentally discovered this game. Xbox Live is also fun as well, and you can even find people to play with. Basically, about the entire game - Its the same Tetris game with a couple of new modes and a new coat of paint. The graphics are remade and the backgrounds include jungles, icelands, the sky, and other types of stuff. Radical made this so you wouldn't fell as left out. The sound element is actually not the bad at all with a couple of decent soundtracks that you'd actually enjoy listening to. The controls are learned with a minutes time - X to rotate the block and down to drop it all the way. Hmmm, that was more like 5 seconds. The main question is wheatear or not you'd want to break out the 30 bones for a game playable for free on the internet. Unless your a Tetris fan, skip it, and get it with the Xbox Live Kit. Granted, its just a 30 year old port that's still fun to play. Kinda ironic, ain't it?
