Dino Crisis 3
Review by rudetuna
"Should be called Camera Crisis 3!!"
Holy smokes...what happened?
Well let me start by saying how disappointed i was in this game. Then again Capcom has been a disappointment lately so why was I surprised. Anyway lets get on with it.
GAMEPLAY:
Alright if you ever played any games in the Dino franchise then unlearn them. This thing plays like trying to navigate an airplane. The jump feature is a cool plus however it is completely useless. Why you ask? Well the camera angles are so bad that 75% of the time you cant even see where you are supposed to go, and if you do then the angles are so bad that the camera will change while you are in mid-air. The camera kills the action and momentum.
Another feature that cripples the game is the fact that i couldnt kill all the dinos. A trade mark in survival horror is once an enemy is dead then he/she is gone for good. Ohh... but not these dinos, they magically reappear or respawn if you will. Sure you get infinite ammo but you will get bit 2-3 time before a small dino is dead.
The weapons are cool and the WASP are a good feature, but you really cant see what you are aiming at because you can only see something if its right in front of you (camera strikes again). Any I could go on all day but moving on.
DIFFICULTY:
This game is unforgivingly hard...even on easy. 3 bites from a dino of any size and game over. Get this , you even get a limited amount of continues unless you buy some more. So you will probably saying ''I will just save as i go along and keep my continues.'' Well that would be dandy if the continue spots were not so scarce. Another devastating blow is the fact that you have to buy space for how many items you can carry. Sounds confusing? Basically, if you want to be able carry 2 large med packs instead of 1 then you have to pay a fee. Oh get real Capcom!!
GRAPHICS:
I cant complain here. The graphics are totally amazing. The sound is also well orchastrated. The sounds really fit the mood of the game and the jet pack really sounds cool.
OVERALL:
This could have been an excellent game hands down. Had capcom took there time with the camera. I know its hard to believe that camera angles could kill a game this much but honestly it really did. I highly recommend renting this one first. If you can get past the bad camera angles then go for it.
